4th place give him a ribbon
3:31.18. Filip ran 3:30.01 - so Henrik is now the slowest Ingebritsen

This
Incredible run, and lucky George ducked him to run (terribly) in the 1000m.
Tim looked elated that he'd run 3:28 then turned round and saw Jakob had clearly ran something special. Like a balloon popping.
Tim literally saw the Tokyo 2020 gold medal vanishing at that moment.
That's the fastest Tim (and likely any Kenyan) will run the next decade.
Jakob could actually be threatening El G's record next year, at age 18 (as well as running sub 13 5000m. God knows what he'll be running by the time Tokyo comes round.

I'll put good money on it that you weigh of 225 pounds and have never broken 6 minutes in the mile.

Let’s pump our collective brakes on the WR hype
Sure, pump the brakes on the word record talk, but Jakob is the most talented junior since Jim Ryun, or maybe even longer. He’s 5th on the junior all time list. I don’t feel qualified to know whether the top 4 were their stated age. Kwemoi was new to the sport, at any rate, when he ran 3:28.8. I think that’s about as mind-blowing as Jakob today. And Canova said Kwemoi was going to win Tokyo. Jakob is incredible.

Calm the F down, dude. 3:31 is a WORLD away from 3:26.

It’s like Jim Ryun without the world records. Now all we need is a Kip Keino.

Thanks for showing us the world record holder’s progression. What does that have to do with a totally different runner?
Honestly, I’d take ventolin/calculo back in a heartbeat if it meant being rid of coevett. At least ventolin was kind of amusing in his eccentricity, and not a confirmed hardcore racist.
He’s shown he can run fast times but he’s also shown he gets crushed in championship style races. He doesn’t have the raw speed to win gold medals against the Kenyans but he will run some fast times!

What? Kid is just 17 years old, and he just ran down several guys down the homestretch to grab the 4th place.
