Kangaroo court comes to mind
He made a false crime report, he admitted to doing so publically. Surely you realize the potential false police reports have to be disruptive to prosecuting real crimes? This isnt a victimless stunt that he pulled.
Actually, he did not file a false police report. He never even talked to the police. He talked to the media.
What happened is that Lochte and some teammates went out drinking. They stopped at a gas station. Lochte knocked down a signed and the group urinated in public behind the gas station. Security guards at the gas station detained the group with guns and demanded they pay for the damage. Which they did.
Lochte embellished the story. Claiming he had a gun to his head, and that they were posing as cops. Other than that his story was not that far off. They were held at gunpoint and forced to pay money.
The gas station claimed they trashed a bathroom, but that claim turned out to be just as false as Lockte's. No evidence of any other vandalism was found.
The truth is, Brazil felt embarrassed over the claim and wants to publish Lochte. Lochte certainly acted childish, but so is brazil.
