If Brazil wins the World Cup then they will forget all about him.
Kangaroo court comes to mind

He made a false crime report, he admitted to doing so publically. Surely you realize the potential false police reports have to be disruptive to prosecuting real crimes? This isnt a victimless stunt that he pulled.
According to the Brazilian "Authorities."
Need I say more?

It's ok because Lochte is from Florida, where the legal system is at about the same level as Brazil.

Lochte is an obvious legal scholar, and will be well-prepared to face a Brazilian court on his own.
In response Lochte said "Jeah"
Which country is more corrupt these days, Brazil or US? Hard to say, right?

Did Lochte actually file a false police report? As I recall, the police were upset at him for allegedly lying to reporters, not for filing a false police report, which makes this incident even more egregious. With all of the violent crime and corruption in Brazil, it seems absurd to keep targeting Lochte for something so seemingly trivial, particularly when he already had to pay a fine of more than $10k for this

Just some random thoughts on the matter:
Is this a misdemeanor or felony? Hope the Brazilians are not getting as upset as a soccer player over a minor infraction.
Can he plead guilty from USA or do they require him to be present in their country?
If they require his presence to prosecute they should let it go unless he wants to return for vacation or business.
Brazil is another crap hole, they should be glad whenever Americans visit.

Break the law, expect a reaction from law enforcement.
That is not “targeting” even if Lochte and other snowflakes feel like it is.
Is the last part true??
If this had been an average Brazilian citizen this would have been no big deal to them.

No, it is not hard to say at all. If you think it is close you are ignorant of both.
Interesting if he never made a report about the assault, then he could not have filed a false report. Telling the press that something happened is not the same as filing a report.
The damage to the station was paid for.
Lochte looks like an idiot, but the Brazilian authorities are trying to one up him here.
How much time and money is being spent still pursuing this? I am thinking far more than ever went into investigating the report (if one was ever made).

Blame it on the bossa nova, with its magic spell
Blame it on the bossa nova, that he did so well
Blame it on the bossa nova, and the drunken a-hole
So what? Lochte will never return to Brazil and they can't extradite him from the USA. Snooze.

Maybe when Obama was POTUS, but things are getting cleaned up now.

Ha! If cost-effectiveness was the standard for prosecutorial decisions in the United States, 90% of District Attorney's staff would be out of work.
Break the law, expect the consequences.
