I've grown up now and moved to a major east coast city (Pittsburgh) but I cherish my time spent in Denver as a child. The Midwest is a great place to grow up.

Denver is not the "midwest". It's the mountain west. Not the same, but I understand what you are saying.
Sorry John I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree with you here. Denver is NOT in the intermountain west. The great plains are literally right next to the city. Midwest.

And if you go a hundred miles up, your in space, spaceman.

You can believe what you want, but nobody else thinks denver is in the midwest. I'm quite familiar with geography of colorado. Montana has the same thing, in terms of plains, but montana is also not a part of the midwest.
Pittsburgh isn't an east coast city.
actually agree with John Utah on something. miracle.
Denver is also right against the mountains. It's not at all like Kansas City, Omaha, or Cleveland.
It's kind of a mix of midwest, far west (lots of Californians), with it's own unique Colorado characteristics.

Yeah, Pittsburgh is or midwest than Denver.
That may be what the OP was hinting at.
The way I read this, the OP left Denver, and realized how crummy it was once he was in Pittsburgh.
Denver is not in the Midwest.

Denver is not in the Midwest.
Once again, Denver is in the MIDdle of the WEST. Drop the other words and you literally are left with MIDWEST.
Case closed.
Denver is not in the Midwest. The US Census Bureau states that the Midwest ends with the Dakotas, Nebraska, and Kansas.
Having live in two of those states, and in Denver, I can further state that Denver is not in the Midwest.

Is San Diego part of The South, or a Southern State?
Is South Dakota in the South?

Denver is in the Rocky Mountain Time Zone. You can see the Rockies when you're there. You can close the case but you're wrong when you do.

I know what you mean OP. Having lived most of my life in Michigan and Washington, I'm very nostalgic about Canada. I mean it's right next door, eh!

And the upper peninsula of michigan is in Eastern time. Would you call upper michigan an "Eastern" state?
Georgia is north of Florida, so is therefore north.
kyoto, are you a flat-earther?
When I think "midwest," I think farm country and conservative family values (Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, etc.)
Denver, CO on the other hand is "front range" (Mountain Time). There is a progressive, libertarian, enjoy nature, enjoy drugs culture in CO. In recent years due to all the migration, cost of living has gone up a ton (which I love since I own property there).
Denver is where you NOW get into battles now over who is native v. who is non-native. Generally when someone says they're native of CO, you assume they are a victim of gentrifcation
