Actually, most triathletes specialize in one of the three. It is usually the runners who come out on top, because by then everyone else is dead.
Bump, lol
Bump, lol
I think both sports deserve respect. Less then 95% of oue population can put fourth the effort to do such things. Most people just have the desire to be a participant rather than a spectator. There is nothing wrong with that in any sport whether you suck at one or all three. Sure there are those cocky people that make running sound so much more insignificant then triathlon oe vice versa but you get those types of people with anything you encounter in life. that's just what it is, those .people. Who try to justify why they are better our you are worse. Like anything else it does not speak for the majority as a whole. And if someone is an athlete they play the partx a runner will invest in running gear a triathlete will invest in triathlon gear just as a biker will invest in biking gear. I think all the name calling and hating is kind childish but I guess that's just rational thinking.. Another thing people lack nowadays.

I think what pissed people off most about the triathlon is that some geek with a lot of money and great equipment can defeat the better athlete, often handily. I've competed in tris and can say I've been beaten by some real dorky dudes, and it pisses me off.
There you are. In triathlon, you can buy speed. Impure sport.
They don't, they hate themselves and need an outlet for their self-hatred.
Haters gonna hate
triathletes are pretty accustomed to being bad at everything
eg swimmers beat tri swimmers [even tri people that are ex swimmers, now ofc only swim 2x/week or thereabouts to maintain]
'real' bikers squash tri-bikers, even ex-pros, since they dont train enough on the bike anymore....
and ofc 'real' runners destroy tri runners
so they're pretty used to being ridiculed. Also their helmets are stupid.
i'm sure this was posted 12 times already

I don't think it's jealousy. Triathletes are seen as taking the easy way out; jack of all trades, master of none.
That is perfect!! Haha
There seems to be a pattern. Runners hate triathletes, cyclists hate triathletes. I have not asked the swimmers but I can guess their answer.
It is because triathletes are total self absorbed douche canoes.
