I like a lot of your posts, but this simply can't be true;
NOP completely changed after 2017.
As mentioned by another poster, the athletes shape the narrative of the group. And from interviews, social media, and my location, here's what I've determined:
Centro ONLY trains with the other members of the group at altitude camp and during competition season. Otherwise, he's based in Arlington, Virginia, and trains with the District Track club, which is run by his father. His dad and AlSal are from the same period in Oregon's history. I'm sure they talk to Alberto, but it definitely doesn't add up that Centro moved all the way across the country to call (Ditto with Jenkins, who lives in Portsmouth, NH) AlSal/Julian every week about workouts he and Centro Sr. have been doing and administering since they were 18. So many athletes make life changing sacrifices for training situations, for example; Christian Taylor is now effectively an ex-pat because of his coach, and that's ditto for a lot of foreign athletes who live and train in the US. Why would Centro want to leave Portland right after Mo left the group, and why did Jenkins follow? If Galen is such a great training partner, and Alberto a coach, why would so many people leave the immediate environment?
There is something up with Galen that affects the coaching situation and it's obvious that the group being founded around him has never gone his way. His comments about Mo's departure from the group during his Chicago interview were characteristic, being vague, polite, and measured, and Matthew's c. Galen has had at least two training partners with more marketability and more success, and both have left the environment created by Alberto, which gave them fame, medals, and money, and supposedly a great group to train with, which begs my former question be asked.
I'm not trying to bash Galen, Mo, or Matthew, they're both great athletes who are innocent until proven guilty in light of everything that happened and has yet to happen with NOP. But the coaching situation at NOP is not entirely what the athletes are reporting, and you can be sure the influx of athletes to the group over the past year (which again, is usual given their past) has played a part. Just my two cents.
