Yeah, what a great time. And One Percent, you'd be way more cool if you didn't coach for edina. I have but two words for you: The Empire.

And frosh Kevin Havel of Hersey HS in IL, ran 9.14.
Info = Nate Uslding - nice way to try to give yourself props, Nate - hopefully you work as hard at coaching as you do at trying to resurrect your quasi-glory days. Sad.

Yes he did run 9:11 and yes he did close in 62 seconds. The track was not short and his coach is an Ex-Badger All-American 1500 meter runner named Nate Uselding. I'm sure Nate and the other Badger Alum will come through here soon and verify this as well.
Boy just won state in a 9:06.
Andrew Perkins is good, but acutally should be a sophmore this year. He turned 16 in march of this year, but was held back because he missed too many days of school during 7th grade. I read that on dyestat. Even so, those times would still be outstanding for a sophmore. Robb Finnerty is amazing too. HOw many miles doest that kid put in?
Also wondering about those two twins who ran like 4:09 in the mile...S. Taye and his brother? Are those two kids african?
S. Taye (Portland) second at New England championships.
9:01ish to Eric Giddings (South Portland, ME) 9:00.
I believe slightly inferior to Hulst's 2-mile time but a frosh record for 3200m
by the way, the tayes are not twins, the older (a junior) won the 1600 in 4:13, unpressed for the final 800m

it was 88 degrees and 94% humidity in this cold climate today! yikes.
You know what he meant...what a stupid comment. Think about your response in February.

mellow out, genius. i never said he was wrong, i was pointing out that it was hot and humid, not exactly ideal for running a hard 3200 on the track. did i criticize him anywhere? i believe i was giving context to the race, actually providing info. relax, not everything has to be a slam.
Thank you for the clarification and the extremely useful information. I'm sure the majority of readers here thought that it probably snows in MN during the summer.
Please continue to add your enlightening comments to all of the posts so we don't miss the obvious. By the way, MN borders WI - I bet you didn't know that! You were right - I am a genius :)
well, you may be a genius, but either reading or geography appears to be a challenge. the race was in Maine. that's ME. nowhere near MN or even WI. perhaps you've got it confused with another site of a stud frosh, but that just reaffirms my doubts about your reading ability or at the least your ability to interpret the context. regardless, i stand by my opinion that giving the weather was useful information. although apparently for you it's irrelevant. anyway, enough of this ridiculous discussion.
My apologies. I see this guy just ran 4:01.09 and I had no idea he was in high school. I then googled his name and this thread came up.
I looked at the results and was like "Why don't I know who he is?"
And it's because he's in high school. Incredible.
(His best was 4:07.93 before today)
This year is a great one in the high school ranks.
Wejo,
You don't spend a lot of time on the site do you, apparently all you do is collect the money.
If i remember correctly- the kid hammered a 9:20 or so in 8th grade.
My first exposure to finnerty was the 2005 Lakeville Apple Jack Invite in cross. As a frosh, he beat Elliot Heath and TC Lumbar, running something like 15:48 for the win. That's when I knew there were good years ahead for MN high schoolers.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
