I think you misunderstand a great deal. How many times have I said that the faith in drugs goes all the way to the top? Pick whatever prevalence figures you want, from 14% to 57% or more, I do not doubt that doping is prevalent even at the top. I expect a few doping positives like we've seen in different events: 2 out of the top 16, or 3 out of the top 30, or 2 out of the top 50. In the case of the women, in events requiring more strength, I expect the prevalence at the top to be higher, because of male hormones. Where I part from the faithful masses is how much potential benefit is possible from doping, at the top. I expect, at the very least, diminishing returns, or at worst, negative returns. The point of showing El G's survey results is to show how ambiguous public opinion is for the best Moroccan miler -- not quite 50/50 but not far from that either. Saying "I believe El G is clean" will put you in the company of 43% of the public (survey respondents). It wasn't to express any lack of sureness on my part, but the lack of unanimity on the part of the public, some of who would ridicule the claim "El G is clean." I don't give Lagat the benefit of the doubt, because the full report left no doubt: "All experts present agreed that the urine of Mr. Bernard Lagat did not contain any recombinant erythropoietin (rhEpo) and he therefore had not committed Epo-doping." What do I say now? Pretty much the same thing as before Kiprop's bust -- you can't prove general rules with logical fallacies and leaps of faith.

You should rethink, and just speak for yourself.
Oh please...recreational runner. You know you're in disbelief & shock because you never believed that runners "at the top" use EPO. The #1 guy EL G - you weren't sure if he doped citing some stupid poll that showed a high percentage of people thought he was clean. The #2 guy, Lagat, had an "A" sample hot for EPO but his "B" sample was not confirmed - so you gave him the benefit of the doubt. Now the #3 guy and only one of three to ever run under 3:27 is positive for EPO. What do you say now? Oh...wait a minute...I remember; you believe he just started doping a week or two before the testers came a calling. ?
