Walmsley could almost do this double. He would tempo 3:59 for his starve, but then he would take a wrong turn at Tengboche and end up passed out with a dead hooker in Bangladesh

Doing two things that require endurance isn't that impressive. I would be more impressed if a sub 4 min miler could bench over 400.

Thanks! It's been good so far. Met some really interesting folks. I'm in north-eastern Tennessee. No black bear encounters yet unfortunately. Trail is more crowded than I expected it to be. I see around 30-40 people a day. That should dive down as I get further north. Overall good time.

Did you know that you cant use someones 100 mile race to determine their mile time? Did you know some people can run sub 4 but dont because they dont race that distance? Did you know that Joseph gray and KJ both train at elevation with vert and therefore have slower Strava times.. If you put them in a flat boring track at sea level with the ideal conditions of a weak sad track and road runner they could do it. Its not insane. These guys are top in the world. They just dont train for that weak awful distance full of headphone wearing guys in track suits and aerodynamic sunglasses
Why did he use the sub 4 mile a distinction? His mile time is certainly one of his lesser achievements. Why not say only 40 people have run sub 1:43 in the 800 (don't know the actual number, just guessing)? Or World champ medalist?

Benching is the dumbest exercise ever. Become a good hugger.

4,638 humans have climbed Mt. Everest.
1,497 humans have broken 4 minutes in the Mile.
No human has ever done both. Until now....
Yeah, but Nick Symmonds (TM) is not really a human. He has reached the PR singularity. He is now just a Personal Brand that exists on a separate plane within the Corporate Brand Space. Personal Brands do not require oxygen to survive, only attention, so I don't think this will be very difficult feat for him (unless people decide not to care, of course).

You are like the inverse of those knuckleheads that think that Rich Froning could CRUSH sub-4:00.
Let me give you a name to look up with regards to sub-4:00: Ryan Hall
I know you re trolling but I'm having fun with this.
:)
Watch out for the yetis.

Good luck, Nick
This guy is abit of a crack smoker. I never knew Olympians were so desperate for money that they have to risk their life to promote their sponsors.

I'd say that is a good guess +/- 3.
I'd drop several hundred dollars to a gofundme for that exact purpose, especially someone who showed actual mountaineering poise.
that said, I'm pretty sure nick has a couple of friends in high places and will have sherpas at the ready to carry him up the mountain if/when the need arises. Whoever mentioned "on rungum only," LMFAO, wouldn't that be a hoot...I'll be old and dead before that ever happens.
Yes, NS needs to get a real job and soon. This RunGum thing cannot last and he can only ride with his Gorilla face for so long. Stop pretending to be a celebrity and grow up. In the real world he is nobody, and the real world is where he is living now.
