Well, I'm terrible about these things. If I properly figured withdrawing out, I'd only have two kids instead of 3.

AJ, too hot, et. al.,
Just got back from another hot and windy run...some tough early spring running lately.
In any case, I could not agree more with Smoove—Shalane is an inspiration par excellence, especially at age 36. Her “F—-Yeah” fills me with passion every time I see it. In fact, I saw two “F—-Yeah!” signs while running Shamrock, and they were a nice boost. The other notable sign from Shamrock was: “Make this race your b-tch!”
In any case, I am picking the young phenom, Jordan Hasay. I have always liked her stick, yet toned, frame, and her style. She has battled through injuries, and has realized, at an early age (especially for a contemporary American) that she has the body and talent of a marathoner. Plus, I like her braids.
I really like the three other American with women, and will be very happy if any of the four American ladies win. Would love to see a USA 1-2-3 finish. On the men’s side, it is not as interesting. I am rooting for Rupp. No matter what anyone says, I just cannot see that guy having done anything wrong. To me, he comes across as being extremely genuine and likable, and until something else is proven, I will continue to believe in him and root for him. I also like Ryan Vail, who has battled through injuries, and am sad to see that Ritz is a last-moment scratch. I believe he runs a six-day week. Hope his SI joint gets better.
Cheering for Desi because underdog, and Shalane because hometown story.
But if money we're on the line, I'd probably bet on Molly.
On the men's side, is it too much of an underdog story to cheer for Yuki?
Heck no I love Yuki... 76 marathons under 2:20 and 25 of those under 2:12 is a HELLUVA accomplishment.

No doubt...I just love that consistency.
Kinda sucks I won’t get to watch it. Would love to see shalane win again, just don’t see it happening.

Agreed .. she should have retired on top. I think runners are like boxers, always think they have one fight left in them.

OR, can you send some of that warmth up here? Cold wind, 30s, drizzle/freezing rain as I head out for a short run now. Got into the upper 40s for my long run yesterday, which was a nice respite from the seemingly endless winter here. But it was still cloudy and breezy.
As for Boston, I still root for Molly. Her one-and-only high school XC season in nearby Elmira coincided with my son's best XC season, so I was a fan back then. Good to see her still at the top of the sport all these years later.
At my first Boston, Joan Benoit was the women's winner. She was the Olympic gold medalist the following year. I had a bit of a crush on her back then. Just such a genuine, hard-working and talented lady. Pretty, too, in a wholesome Maine sort of way.
Well, I would if I could, as I am not enjoying these high temps so early in spring. It is hard to believe that your weather is so day/night different than ours right now. You are within a day’s drive of me, and our weather patterns are usually similar. I hope you have a good run.

My wife's sister is in Pittsburgh, and she was relaxing outside yesterday on a sunny 80-degree afternoon. At least the sleet changed to snow for my run today. But 35 mph gusts from the northeast.
Here it was 24 (14 wind chill) for my HM on Sat. Wed was 80. Friday night low of 30 high today of 44. By this coming Tuesday it will be 80 again.
this weather has been BiPolar AF
Does Gwen Jorgensen have a twin or a little sister? I swear she's working at this bar.
Just an older sister who's a high school teacher and doesn't look that much like her. Likely not her.
I've got Molly and Rupp
As for NOP. I'm ok with what they're doing. Grey areas are fine. If the limit is 100 and they go 99.99999 I'm good with that. As long as rules as written aren't broken. It's naive to think no one else at that level is doing it. Even us hobbyjoggers want that 4% shoe...
Got a pair of vaporflys and am drinkijg the koolaid too, but i think i might save them. No magic times are happening monday and i feel like witing to use them in the right day will give me even more of a mental edge.
I dont know if the effect (real or placebo) will have the same xontinuing value if i weat them and still run 10 mins off my time.
I left the lunaracers at home so I’m committed to the vaporflies. And I refuse to let the weather psyche me out. #stoprupp
