This was Day's first race back for the lumberjacks since his 3rd place NCAA finish. He really ran out of gears at the end but it was a nice race for him. Also George Parsons redeeming the tinman method with a nice 12 second PR over 5000 and doing it the hard way with a ~2:01 last 800m.
Still, this was definitely Zach Long's day and his coming out party. A massive PR from his 13:54 at SEC's outdoors last year. He did not make indoor nationals. Very spicy.
He has raced a couple times since then just not in an NAU singlet. He raced at USA indoors I believe.

Does Dimoff train with the likes of Houlihan and Quigley or is it the BTC club squad? i think its the latter. Further in support of this idea, she was wearing the club kit, which had several obvious differences from the one worn by Jorgenson.
Solid day for tinman's group
Drew Hunter - 3:39.42 for 2nd. coming off injury still ranks as one of his better mile/1500 performances. He also beat the whole oregon squad, who would've been his teammates had he matriculated.
George Parsons - 13:40 for a 12 second 5K PR
Reed Fischer 28:38 for a 9 second 10K PR.
Also nice to see Ashley Maton, who is training with Sara Vaughn, running well. I think she is working or going to school full time. Despite this, she cranked a 4:16 opener. Seems that Brent Vaughn's coaching ability extends beyond his wife!

Carrie Dimoff, a 2:30 marathoner whose fastest 5k is 15:46, almost crushed her at double the distance.
One thing I haven't seen mentioned on LRC yet about Drew Hunter's injury is that it was not an overuse or structural-weakness issue. Freak thing when he broke a toe due to impact with a rock out on the trails one day, I believe this winter. (Memory a bit fallible as to timing.)
