Chill dude. I used the word fuel because not everything you can consume (gels, bars, sports drinks) is necessary food
Clarifying again: the dizzy feeling I felt was NOT from 12 milers. When it happened, I didn't attribute them to completely running out of energy but to my body switching from burning primarily glycogen to primarily fat. This might sound weird but I rarely get dehydrated, both when I'm running and when I'm not. My urine color says it all.
Also, these are 12 miles with 4 mile tempo finishes. Not sure if it makes a difference but I've felt less than 100% for all of them.
