The USA does not compete in 4 of those 8 meets, counting indoor and outdoor events. The other nations' totals in your list should be cut in half or the USA excluded in your comparison.

These posts explains why it's difficult to get a great thread going on LRC. It has to be gossipy for LRCers to participate.

There is ZERO chance that Sherpas got anywhere near the summit of Everest without European ropes and equipment. ZERO.
True. Bottled Oxygen is the reason they made the summit. But also Sherpas were not even trying to get to the top, because why would they, unless someone paid them. It remains a total waste of time and money except for those being paid to climb up.
The question shows a total lack of athletic history.
Thanks for showing us your genetically, inbred inferior intellect.
Kenyans were too busy and tired working in the fields. The Kenyans didn t start doing well until there was more money involved. Kenyan used to be a more Aquarian society.
Have you heard of the Hillary step?
Why ask about that time frame?
A Kenyan has NEVER held the world record in the mile.
I really enjoyed your story. Well done.
"Were white people genetically and physiologically superior in that time period?"
Is this a serious question? It shows a profound lack of historical awareness and reveals a raft of peculiar assumptions about the nature of human beings in particular and reality in general.

Yeah, but your comparing superior Kenyan runners to inferior blood doping English runners of the 70s and 80s. Peter Coe was Seb's Michele Ferrari.

No, but at the end of the 1950s FIVE of the ten fastest milers of all time were from Australia, and one was from New Zealand. No other nation had more than one top-ten performer.
3:54.5 Herbert Elliott AUS 25.02.38 1 Dublin 06.08.1958 WORLD RECORD
3:55.9 Merwyn Lincoln AUS 22.11.37 2 Dublin 06.08.1958

3:57.5 Ron Delany IRL 06.03.35 3 Dublin 06.08.1958
3:57.5 Murray Halberg NZL 07.07.33 4 Dublin 06.08.1958
3:57.9 John Landy AUS 12.04.30 1 Turku 21.06.1954 WORLD RECORD

3:58.6 Albert Thomas AUS 08.02.35 5 Dublin 06.08.1958
The Australians swept the Mile at the 1958 Commonwealth Games in Cardiff, Wales. The New Zealanders dominated the 3 mile with Halberg winning by 12 seconds.

They could breathe underwater? No wonder they are so good at running. Running is easy compared to breathing underwater.

The reason why you see few Kenyans racing sub-4 for mile is due to fewer and fewer people around the world caring about English Imperial measured events. Kenya produces new sub-3:30 1500m athletes every year. Bring the 1500m into the scenario and your argument falls apart.
Not quite. The first year that Kenya had a sub-3:30 was 1997 with 3:29.46 by Daniel Komen (who also set WRs at 3000/5000m). But Noah Ngeny went sub-3:30 an ASTOUNDING SIX times in 1999.
Kenya has had "only" 14 sub-3:30 performers in history.
So from 1997 to the 2017 outdoor season would be 21 seasons, and your claim would mean 42 Kenyans minimum over that period. That is three times the real figure.
Runners from your favorite nation have how many sub-3:30 1500m performances over the past twenty-one years? You're not a Brit are you? If so, how many Brits will be in 2019 W.C. 1500m final?
While I like the logic behind your population post as it makes you think, it's inaccurate.
1). Kenya's population is like 48 million not 60. Britain's is like 65 million. So why do you have there being 6 x as many kids in Kenya as Britain currently?
2) Even if population explains a lot, it doesn't do everything. Have you ever been to Kenya? Soccer is way more popular than track and they suck at soccer.

Still don't. It is time to allow women to compete in the same events as men. I am, of course, referring to the 110m high hurdles.
