America, do you really want to take Cheserek from us?
Then, give us Noah Lyles, Josyphus the little brother, Kendra harrison and Shakima Wembley.
Then, you may have Cheserek and Sally Kipyego.
You can even throw in Michael Norman for Ednah Kurgat!
I AM SERIOUS!

you realize that's not how it works right?
-
I do but why is that that we always lose.
You still have Bernie. -
If you are referring to Bernard Lagat, he is past his prime. However, we'd be more than happy to give you Bernie Sanders. Please teach him some basic economics while you're at it. As for King Cheserek...I cannot wait for him to compete under the American flag!!!
-
We didn't take Ches, he chose us.

Both Bernies, I am sure, are aware that it is inconsistent to complain about deficits and then blow up the deficit when you're in control of the White House. But that is just what the Ryans and McConnells and Trumps of the world have just done.
Native Son, you'll just have to face up to the fact that Kenya has so much talent in house that there will always be an incentive for Kenyans to switch nationality to make easier teams, or just to maintain this sort of milk shake drinking, potato chip eating, couch surfing lifestyle. Lagat certainly didn't need to switch to make teams and neither does 2018 Cheserek.
How about you take Trump and we'll take Manangoi? -

I noticed during the 2014 Winter Olympics many of the female curlers were Minnesotans. Numerous women competed for several countries; nations of their grandparents. The way you may feel about your 1500m runners .... . No, Minnesotans don't care that MN exports curlers. -

Boring. -
We will throw in will leer for free

Improve your country and you won’t lose as many runners to better countries.

Ha ha ha ha!
Trump cannot come to the '8888hole'.
Thanks but no thanks. Just keep Trump. -
I mean '****hole'.

Hagosy,
You probably have never been to Kenya.
There is a reason as to why even your diplomats buy homes in Nairobi after their tour of duty is over.
The last two Ambassadors (excluding the current one-Robert Godec) have decidedto settle in Kenya.
Michael Ranneberger married a Kenyan girl- a Maasai. He left Kenya to go work at the State Department after his stint. He said that he'd then relocate to Kenya.
The man before him, one Scott Gration is now a Kenyan citizen based in Mombasa. he is a businessman.
Godec loves Kenya. He's been around since 2013. I am told by someone who works in your Embassy whom I happen to know well.

Bill Gates and the Virgin Atlantic guy Richard Branson are always in Mombasa and Malindi. They own villas there.
This also applies to British High Commissioners who have served Kenya.
There are countless guys including Italians at the Coast.
My point is this,
If Kenya were a ****hole, none of these guys would leave developed countries to come over her. -

I didn’t say Kenya was a ****hole. I said that you wouldn’t lose as many athletes if it was better. That’s factually accurate, even if you won’t accept it. Why do you think we got Bernie, Lenny, Chelimo, Bor, and will get Ches? -

Okay,
I get your point.
Just to answer your question, it is because:
1. America is rich, developed and everyone loves it including those who always proclaim 'death to America'. They watch your movies and drink Coca Cola........and wear Nike.
2. America doesn't have the talent anywhere close to where Kenya is.
3. America is welcoming........or was until 2016. Yes!
Kenyans don't flock to Canada or Britain yet, the Standards of living are more or less teh same and neither do they go to Swiss, Norway, Belgium e.t.c.
Our problem is that we havetoo much talent. It is 'infinite' .
No one knows how many people we have and since a country can only send three athletes for each discipline per championship, some guys will miss out.
Ruth Jebet is very comfortable running for Bahrain. She doesn't even attempt to make the team because she is theteam and the country.
Cheserek , if he stays in Kenya, will be shortchanged. Thare is no doubt in mymind.
He will be overlooked and then, fall though the cracks.
In America, hewill almost always make the team in anything from 800m to 5000m and beyond.
I don't like it though. I think acquiring talent this way defeats the very purpose of the spirit of hte games........e.g. theOlympics movement.
Just my five shillings worth of opinion. -
If that’s how you want to justify it to sleep at night, I won’t burst your bubble. Just remember, if it was all about making the team, those Canadian, British, Norwegian, Belgian, Swiss teams are easier to make than the US team and it is perplexing that they wouldn’t flock there. Or, you know, that our American born sprinters wouldn’t flock to Kenya.

Hargosy,
It is a combination of all of the above (points that I indicated).
People generally love America compared to any other country. -
We already have a Noah.

Harsh. If we have to keep Trump you’re going to have to throw in something serious. Kipchoge, even.
