What a beast.
And how about Boris Berian. What balls. Hasn't raced in like forever and he's go the guts to go out in 50.28. Gotta respect that.

But then dies horribly in the finally stretch, terrible. That front running mentality kills his ability. He should have just went out in a relaxed pace to see where he was.
I just don’t get it
Great run by Brazier and Berian!
Curious to see if Rojo will bash ches if he runs another fast time, apparently 1:45.11 is good enough to praise but 3:49.44 isn't good by his standards????????

No I don't. I found it stupid.

An out of shape guys runs extremely dumb earns rojo's respect, while the fastest miler in the world right now gets immediately trashed after a superb performance in a rojo meltdown
mode rant ?

Agreed.
You can respect that and call it "guts" if he pulls it off. Otherwise it's the same as running a massive PR in the qualifying rounds of an unimportant conference meet.
Not at all. A massive pr in rounds is a lifetime pr. Berian got in very solid training in a race when he wasn't close to top shape but practiced running the first 400m at goal pace and then toughing out a death march to the end. Why bother going out in 53 and coming back in 55 at best?

Even that is tiers above flying and dying. A PR in the rounds is at least a seed time for later events and some value as a mental benchmark. Flying and dying is, well, nothing.
Going out at a pace that you know you're not ready for and then dying is teaching you what exactly? That you're not in race shape? Berian knew that going in.
Agreed that he must've known that he was out of shape. But, for those who know the financial side of things...
How big was his appearance fee?
Why not pick up a check?
What did he lose?
And maybe for a guy wired like him...wasn't it super fun headed to the city, doing interviews, hanging out with old friends, and getting his ass spanked in the last 200(well I imagine that was like death)?
Maybe he made some greenbacks and had some fun. And now it's back to work...

You're right about that! That's why he is a pro and you are not.
So Rojo applauds Brazier's run that is the second best for an American ever, yet downplays Cheserek's mile which would have been an AR had he been an American? Cheserek's mark is the second fastest in the world ever while Brazier's 800 isn't even in the top 10 performances ever. There's some twisting of the facts going on here to support whoever Rojo decides is praiseworthy.
Because he’s American born? It’s called being a fan? I not necessarily bad intent.

wejo and rojo are the best trolls on this board, at least on a consistency basis.
Balls = stupidly. Berian never seemed like the brightest bulb.
Omg. Will you chez fan boys give it a rest.
The indoor mile isn’t a highly contested or glamour event anymore. Indoor tracks have gotten faster.
Chez took advantage of that and you bozos are drooling
The he comes out tonight and wins the 3K. Something is fishy

By your logic, if I went out in 54 for the mile then ran 8 minutes you'd say I deserve respect for going for it.
I gotta say, you’ve been off your game this weekend. The two big stories you’ve utterly embarrassed yourself. Better take a step back and look at the bigger picture.
I suppose that’s the benefit of running the website. You can say whatever you want and people have to listen.
Gutsy? That is hilarious.
The guy can probably run a 48 quarter after two weeks of laying around drinking beer. So he goes and runs 50-point and staggers to the finish. That means he was rigging for a few more seconds than someone running in accordance with his fitness level.
If he knew he was out of shape and couldn't win, going out like a bat out of hell was actually smart, because no one would know afterward precisely how out of shape her really is. Not gutsy.

What was the deal with his injury? A ruptured Achilles that required surgery or just chronic tendonitis that needed a long layoff from racing? (not much on internet on what his gig was).
