Pretzel Man, I am very interested in following your training. You've been at this game for a long time, and continue to race very consistently.
I am wondering if you could include average pace per mile for your training runs ... my brain isn't nimble enough to quickly do the math. Thanks, and best wishes. (BTW - how many Bostons will this be for you?)
I am pretty much starting from scratch after taking three months off for injuries. Still not completely healed, but managed four short runs this past week -- at 10-minute miles. (I post details on the 50+ thread.)
Smoove -- Perhaps inappropriate for me to question an accomplished masters competitor and professional coach, but I gotta agree with OR about the beers. Downing that quantity the night before a key long run sure seems contraindicated ... even with the pedialite chasers. I would also question the caffeine supplement.
Outsiderunner -- I continue to be stunned at your ability to hammer those long progressions day after day, especially at age 49! There is absolutely no way I could have managed that EVER during my running history. And not just amazing in itself, but also amazing how you continue to improve so dramatically. How can anyone argue with that success?! Hats off to you, sir, and all the best as you tackle your next marathon.
