A League, B League, Pony League, Babe Ruth League, Premiership League, Justice League, 20,000 Leagues, League of Their Own, Little Big League, ALCS, NLCS, the League (as NFL veterans refer to it), Leagueally Blonde.
I would say that all of the Negative Nancy posts directed toward Hasay means that runners and posters are afraid that she will dominate for the next 8 years.
She is the future and I might add, very cute.
Hasay will run fast at Boston and eventually make the US Olympic team. *smokes dope* *cough* *cough* *drinks bottle of liquor*

I agree. She's a real cutie pie!!

.....and Huddle isn't exactly the cream of the crop herself. JR's half was a far better run that Huddle's 1:07. While 1:07 is a solid time, in a loaded field and fast race, it obviously doesn't stand up. She was what, 8th? Our women's national record in the half is barely WR pace for the marathon. With women running as fast as they are now we need to step it up, and not be satisfied with setting a ho-hum national record. Flanagan's win in NYC was far better a performance than that 1:07. Key word: win.
That makes sense. The WR for 10K is 29:17.xx and the AR for the 5K is 14:38.92. Just slightly slower than the 10K WR. Huddle did well, even though she got beat by several, she only lost by 30 or 40 seconds. I could see it going many different ways over the next 3 track seasons, with those championship meets.
Both of them are competing in 2018, 19 and 20. All kinds of things can happen.

Go to ~14:30 in the video. This tells you everything you need to know about Molly Huddle.

Lol I totally agree with you-- Roxbury really pulled a "Huddle" when she faded that last 20m, didn't she?
Seriously, Huddle is much faster than Hasay at track distances, which was already obvious, and so she is probably going to be faster than Hasay at sub-marathon road distances like the half marathon.
Marathon is a different beast. Huddle could be much better at shorter distances than Hasay and Hasay could still be much better at the marathon than Huddle. I wouldn't make any generalizations about Huddle or Hasay being "leagues above" the other one without specifying the distance. Comparing them in the marathon, without them both running a few more marathons so you have some real data, it's really just a wild guess who will be better than the other in Boston.

I'm not sure if Rowbury let up or tied up there. I was in the stands it looked like Huddle was toast after having a 1500m star sit on her for 12 laps, but man she fought with everything she had - even after Rowbury tried to block her 3x on the homestretch (side note, I think it was good tactics rather than anything dirty).
Isn't Hasay a doper anyway? She'll never be able to escape that dark cloud above her that is Alberto Salazar. Shady.

Letsrun is the only place where people still care about this. Let it go.
Best line I've read here in a long time.

Yep. Molly waited around at the finish line to hand it off.
No one should get an American Record for a time recorded in a race they didn't win. Much less finish 7th in. Coburn is the only one who has done that recently in mid/long distance (even though the Brojo's think she was only 4th in the world last year).

The world record is the only one that really matters. The rest are arbitrary.

I think Huddle, and especially Desi and Shalane, know that they have absolutely no chance against Hasay if she runs 2:20.
This is where all of the hate stems from. You have old Shalane and tired Desi making jealous comments about Jordan's amazing performances and this is where all the hate started from.
I never saw negative things posted or said in an interview about Jordan prior to this.

Jealousy can't allow them to.

You don't understand records at all.
That's as stupid as saying that an age group record is invalid if the runner didn't win, or a high school record is invalid if the runner didn't win.
