What has happened to the thread?
Seeems to have been deleted.
Only seen this before when people have come clean about their disputed performances.
Or had a lawyer been involved?
What bothers me is she is still claiming to have run a record for 53:53 marathons when the record was never accepted.
It also bothers me that she is making a living off the back of these unsubstantiated claims.

What bothers me even more is that she is giving speeches to school children, "inspiring" them.

The deletion of that thread is the most interesting thing that has happened with that thread in a very long time. Was the Rossi thread ever deleted? Has to be something one step up from a letter from an AOL lawyer.
BRING BACK THE AMY HUGHES THREAD NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Saw it yesterday in passing. Deletion is a recent development.
Dave has sent the Brojos a C&D letter.
What's happened to the thread? I would be keen to understand under what grounds the thread was deleted, can any of the admins clarify?
Okay, so who wants to go first, summarising all the many reasons why so many of us here and elsewhere feel irked, or even insulted by Amy et al and their parading around, bragging about being an "inspiration"? As I genuinely don't think Amy knows.
Starting with the 53 alleged marathon distances, to the treadmill world record fiasco and media circus that followed. I'm happy to write up in more detail as soon as I get the time, but I think it's important there is a record somewhere for any future sponsors she dupes to be directed to.

Maybe you should begin with adding a little balance to the wikipedia page on her:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amy_HughesIt clearly was written by her or one of her friends. I would suggest you don't delete anything written, but merely provide the counter point/respectful criticism with some sources cited.
That wikipedia needs to go. She does not deserve her own page. Delete that sh1t now.

Her sad bf likely bullied the Brojos to take it down.
They will still have it.
All of us e-mail letsrun@letsrun dot com and ask for it to be put back please .
Nothing in the thread that is lies or threats etc

I know, I just couldn't believe that. One of the parents was talking about it on Amy's FB page so i'm asking her exactly what Amy said on this "talk" then i'm contacting the head teacher to let them know she never did 53 marathons and is no record holder.
Here is the URL of the deleted thread, to ask the Brojos to put it back.
Remember the Sandra Trans Con thread was deleted by a lazy moderator who just deleted when reported without question, and so it was put back when we complained.
http://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=8338355&page=105I think the main reason people here wants the thread back is because of the pretty picture of her on the first page.

Well i asked her this, it outlines the basics -
Amy it really isn't that simple - you think you can get your gobby boyfriend to bully Lets Run into removing a thread and you think this whole nightmare will go away?
It really isn't as simple as that.
We will just set up a blog on your scamming and will distribute all over the internet.
The thread will likely be put back anyway.
Because you still haven't answered the questions raised on Lets Run.
Where is the evidence you ran 53 marathons? Strava? No. Garmin? No. So where is it?
Surely you submitted SOMETHING to Guinness. Even though they did throw it out.
How much has your charity raised? 70 grand?
So how much of that went to good causes and how much to trustees you, Dave and your dad?
These really aren't difficult questions, and it's hardly "bullying" you to ask.
We will never go away until we get this info.
Would also be interested in the mileage logs for the treadmill record.
How can someone with very little official running pedigree suddenly claim to break a record which was previously held by 2 very successful (in actual races) and well documented runners?
Without any supporting publicly available data, the whole Amy Hughes 'Record Breaker' thing is utter nonsense.
She, her partner and, supporters get very upset when you challenge her claimed achievements however, when you consider the known race results, the anecdotal evidence of short runs / split runs in the 53 marathons challenge, the lack of publicly available data surrounding both the 53 marathons AND the treadmill world record attempts, I find it unlikely that she has actually achieved what she (and her supporters) claim.
The attempt to run around the Balearic Islands was a great example of her true running pedigree. Whilst she is no date capable of doing long(ish) runs on back-to-back days, this attempt laid bare her inadequacies to all who followed and, showed she was a world away from a world record holder, multiday, ultra runner.
