I just lost another 10% (I gave up betting on marginal leverage).
Does it always go down, when I pay up?

You are probably just a dumb investor who throws money at things when they get a lot of attention for being successful. You can't invest in things AFTER they make it big and expect to do well.
Put your money in mutual funds if you aren't going to take the time to learn not to buy into clear up-swings.
Buy high, sell low is an investment strategy. It's not a good one, but it is a strategy none the less.

Cryptocurrencies are a scam. "Get rich fast scheme." Don't believe it. There is nothing there.

Child abuse imagery has been detected in Bitcoin’s blockchain, according to a new study. The discovery potentially puts cryptocurrency users at risk, as anyone who downloads a blockchain could be held liable for illegal content.
Researchers from RWTH Aachen University in Germany and the Data Protection Research Institute at Goethe University in Frankfurt found 1600 files, including texts and images, on blockchain. Among the data were instances of illegal pornography and serious privacy violations, the team says.
The researchers extracted content from the blockchain, converted it into readable files and presented their findings at the Financial Cryptography and Data Security conference in Curaçao earlier this month. Eight files with sexual content were detected, two of which were backups of link lists to child pornography, containing 274 links to websites, some 142 of which referred to Tor hidden services.
https://twitter.com/JulianAssangeThe US National Security Agency targeted Bitcoin users around the world, according to classified documents released by Edward Snowden. The revelations strike a blow to the financial privacy of bitcoin users, academics warn.
The National Security Agency (NSA) managed to find ways to ‘track down senders and receivers’ of Bitcoins, according to an internal NSA report dated March 2013. The findings come from classified NSA documents, exposed by ex-CIA whistleblower Edward Snowden and first published by The Intercept.
Crucially, the tracking may also have involved amassing information from bitcoin users’ computers. One NSA memo suggests that the NSA collected some Bitcoin users’ password information, internet activity and MAC address, which is a type of unique device identification number.
Darn, I shouldn't have sold... it's up to 9100... bummer.
