Well - a debate can rage a long time, but I'm happy to live with split national champs this year. Lane and Tuohy both had remarkable seasons.

I think it's tough to break the course record when she has to run alone the entire time.
You catch NXN last week? lol
Footlocker course record is much tougher to break than the weak nxn course record. They've been running at Footlocker for how many years?
Tuohy thrives on hills. You do know of the 2 major course records she broke this year right? The mud was probably what made her have to work a bit harder at nxn
The results on boys side overall are historically slow and the girl's results overall are better than average, but still below expectations. The entire San Diego County air quality is compromised, perhaps the most significant issue is the nearby fire removes moisture from the air. I have run in conditions like that and your lungs burn and it can create a sensation of feeling more tired than what you really are. Air quality affects people differently, in days to come you will hear some FLNC kids who bombed say they had breathing problems.

Sorry Charlie, thanks to Katelynne Hart, there is no question that Tuohy is the best in U.S.. Of course Troutner is #1 on the boys side. FL is a sideshow this year, but Tuohy has shown interest in San Diego next year.
My assumption is that Dalton Hengst is still somehow gonna be ranked top 10 in the flo50 rankings somehow
It doesn’t matter Footlocker or NXN, Midwest is the best!!
the camera work was good but man carrie tollefsen was awful behind the mic. She kept on insisting that Jacobs was the top returner last year in 5th (even in her interview with him) when he was 11th. Made a bunch of other mistakes throughout the broadcast too.

Conditions didn't seem as good compared to last year and she did have a sore throat, but good on her for winning back to back titles!
This wasn't her best race obviously, but it could have been worse. Gotta feel bad for Rebecca Story to struggle and run around 19 minutes today after a 9:59 3200m tune up and being undefeated all year.
Actually nice to see her get a slice of humble pie. She talks nice to the camera but wasn’t so gracious to other kids during the regional. Karma baby.
It's obvious that Claudia's sickness affected her times - there's no reason someone would run so much faster then last year on all the same courses EXCEPT the one that really matters. Seemed like she determined she couldn't take down the CR early on, saved her energy and just made sure she could win. Smart choice, plus it's good to have a goal for the senior year.
Holy $hit the announcing was terrible. They just kept on repeating how the course is dry because of the fires and the uphills and downhills.
The announcer dude said Drew Hunter was the defending champ when he won in 2015
That atv at the front was making me nervous. It was lifting up so much dust. That can't have helped much.
Wanted to be impressed with Lane, but wasn't. A bit one paced. Gets nothing off the ground, barely straightens her legs on the drive. Gave a little to the slope and surface, but I did see flow on other runners. You can take her stride length and divide it by the distance, and the only way she gets faster is to pick them up and put them down more rapidly.
Very strong, very fit, tough as nails competitor - cos she can certainly push herself - but she has nowhere to hide in her technique. No power out of her lower legs, no flow. Saw less mature, better potential back in the field.
Bruh wtf u talking bout lmao. "Top highschool girl is not impressive and has no power in her legs"
Tristan Shelgren , Beast dude! Did the Northeast proud!
Tuohy will go on to be a fantastic middle distance runner, Lane will be a Marathoner.
You probably aren't impressed by Zatopek either. She's the first repeat FL female champ since Melody Fairchild. Both of Lane's winning times are faster than the large majority of previous champions that ran at Balboa Park. Only Aisling Cuffe (2010), Julia Stamps (1994), Melody Fairchild (1990), Erin Keogh (1986, 1985), Cathy Schiro (1984), and Janet Smith (1983) have run faster times en route to winning. For someone that has the stride of a marathoner, I think she's doing just fine for herself.

Awesome race Claudia. Can’t wait to see what you can do next!!! Hart and Theis were fun to watch too. So much talent in these ladies. Critics just go back to your coach and pop a cold one.
A few of the girls times that she didn't beat came from the Florida course which was much flatter.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
