No. Many people aren’t even qualified to give blood in the first place, so forcing them to donate would be useless and potentially harmful.

Is this statistic real??
More than 4.5 million American lives are saved each year by a single, selfless act--donating blood.

Positive the thread is Ask Portland XC Girl Anything.
Okay then. What's your opinion of bitcoin?
If you had to choose one...would you rather be kicked in the face or punched in the face and why did you choose the one you did?
(Please note that I am not going to do either of these to anyone and it is purely a hypothetical question to see your line of reasoning behind your answer.)

It’s never been contradicted by a reputable website.

There's no way that a single act of donating blood has that impact.

It’s a bubble that will pop soon. There’s already been some embezzlement at high levels. Invest in ethereum instead.

I’d rather be punched in the face because hands are cleaner and less powerful.
That is a solid answer! Thank you!
What they mean is something like: there are 4.5 million blood transfusions received by USA people every year. Blithely assuming every such transfusion saves a life...

CDC/NBCUS 2007 said 14.6 million transfusions, to about 5 million people.
Exactly how many of this "savse lives" is anyone's guess. Blood transfusing is largely an automatic precautionary these days, but OTOH if you don't do it, ppl do in fact die.

In the United States, blood transfusions were performed nearly 3 million times during hospitalizations in 2011, making it the most common procedure performed. The rate of hospitalizations with a blood transfusion nearly doubled from 1997, from a rate of 40 stays to 95 stays per 10,000 population. It was the most common procedure performed for patients 45 years of age and older in 2011, and among the top five most common for patients between the ages of 1 and 44 years.[55]
According to the New York Times: "Changes in medicine have eliminated the need for millions of blood transfusions, which is good news for patients getting procedures like coronary bypasses and other procedures that once required a lot of blood." And, "Blood bank revenue is falling, and the decline may reach $1.5 billion a year this year [2014] from a high of $5 billion in 2008." Job losses will reach as high as 12,000 within the next three to five years, roughly a quarter of the total in the industry, according to the Red Cross

Many people are unfit for military, but that doesn't mean the draft (or registration therein) is forbidden, despite the useless and harmful scrofula it enlists.
why is it AMA and did you get free juice and cookies?

So in other words, Red Cross needs you to donate to keep their bottom line up.
Sort of like how annual pap smears were pushed against HPV for awhile, but now the efficacy of such frequent testing is more doubtful (is it 3 years now?), yet the patent holder made like $5 per test during the heavy usage period.

It’s Friday and school is boring.
I’ll report back on Monday. I don’t eat junk so hopefully they’ll have some healthy snacks there.
