It seems like all the sexy sleek ones cap out at 16gb of ram. I don't want something ugly.

With memory compression (built into MacOS) and an SSD or hyperdrive, I would not be concerned with 16gb.

The issue with sexy and sleek is that usually means inadequate cooling for the type of power you are looking for (quad core processor, 32gb RAM).
If you want power, it usually doesn’t look pretty. I think Dell XPS 15 is as sexy and sleek as you will get for this search. Or look at the Dell Business laptops like the Precision series. I would recommend Lenovo Thinkpads, but those are quite ugly.
