What a race by Troutner!
What a race by Troutner!
Really nice race by Troutner. Congratulations to him!
That said, by the op’s title , I hope this doesn’t become an athlete bashing thread. Hasty appears to be very gracious and humble athlete.
Congratulations to all!
I agree, Hasty is a class act. Don't trash him.
The posters that feel a need to trash athletes, coaches and programs rather than have mature, thoughtful and educated conversations make themselves look bad and hurt the sport.
It also makes a joke of this forum.
Rise up.
When milesplit puts hastys pic on every posting and writes multiple articles about his sub par team, it makes people feel vindicated when he gets beat by someone they didn't even cover as a contender. Milesplit is useless. They just run times through a computer program and spit out results. Perhaps the mislabeled posting here is a reaction to all of the hype around one athlete. By the way, only one of the top runners hasn't committed yet because he is milking the attention. I wonder who that is?

You must be a hit at parties.
Parties love me! I enjoy telling it like it is. It was a great race and a great finish. BYU gets another national champion to add to their arsenal.
To heck with you, let's run and parties. Parties are so insignificant that your mere mention shows your lack of sophistication. Having said that, I have been following the Hasty, Brentwood, coaching, corruption story for a while And I will say this...letsrun has a respect problem race to race People love to see failure and eating crow on let's run..... Maybe it is because neither "Jo" qualified. Maybe is it because some of you drink yourself to sleep at night to chase down your Prozac. I dont know. Brodey Hasty was beaten.... In one race... On one day....at one time. Just stop regarding. Bunco nights had less gossip. What the heck??

I will also add this... Many of you discussed Brody Hasty I have no idea who that is! Get with the program!

Then why are you on let's run? I think it's a great forum to express opinion and discuss things honestly. Obviously, Hasty and his "coaching situation" hit a nerve on let's run and milesplit. There are more runners and more teams that deserve coverage. I will leave you with that thought before I take a Prozac and wine. Also, let me know when king brodey commits to college. I will bring the disco ball and popcorn!!!
And because Milesplit loves Hasty you feel the need to hate the kid? I wish Milesplit would do things better with their website, but heck it's not Hasty fault the media loves him. The kid is a great runner. Today, someone else had a great day. And Hasty acknowledged that. Definitely a class act.
As for your comment he is milking attention because he hasn't committed is based on what?? From what I read he hasn't completed his official visits. Wasn't too long a go that kids didn't commit so early. The college signings used to be in late winter.
Anyway, kid seems very genuine and likable.

Sure you can express you opinion, but you state your opinion as if it were fact and with a lack of respect and arrogance. Why do you even care when he commits to college?
Bash Milesplit, not the kid.
I am on let's run because i support the good side of running. When in ran in the 90s, it existed. Now....punks...so many punks.

I will also add this....
A defeat by six seconds is small.
Why not just praise Troutman, congratulate Hasty, and wish them both well to represent their colleges and country in the future.
Some of you are selfish bas---ds
Let them have their time.
PS...do not do to brodey hasty what you did to Alan Webb or Mary cain here..ever
Even better, I transposed the numbers.
The defeat was 2 seconds
Great for Troutman..
But you pedantic fools should be ashamed of yourselves

I am with you on this.
BTW, the difference between 1st and 2nd was only 2 seconds :) so even a smaller margin.
It was a great race!! Exciting for us to watch! I applaud all the runners!

Mwaura hasn't committed either.
BTW I feel Mwaura really made the race with those raucous surges on mile 3. Kid has some cojones.
You are right about Brodey. He is a very nice and humble young man.
There is a lot to consider when picking a college. Because Brodey took his time to make sure it was the best place for him should not be ridiculed. It is a shame you are being so insulting to a really great person. I assume by your comments that you do not even know him aside from the magazine articles
