What is with all the Texas answers? No way they come close to having 4 seasons. Especially Austin and San Antonio.

Albuquerque has a known massive meth problem.
Nothing checks all of OP's boxes anyway, so they're basically screwed.
Oregon, bro.
Four seasons, beaches, mountains, perfect people, low cost of living. WTF OP? You sound like a young adult living where you grew up and believe there is nirvana out there for you.
As you age, cost of living and preparation for retirement will become critical issues. The midwest is the place you should consider. Major cities with world-class cultural attractions, beautiful geography, very low cost of living compared to the coasts, less traffic in general, four seasons, abundant fresh water, excellent education availability in most instances, winters that are getting milder with climate change.
The general douchebag poster on LRC will advise some place in the Sun Belt, or a place on the coasts, but will fail to tell you about the costs of living in the coastal regions, the horrible-and-getting-worse weather in the southern US, the general hillbilly nature in places like Texas that is lurking just outside of most city limits, and the crush of traffic in Sun Belt cities like Charlotte and Hotlanta.
Give me Chicago, Cleveland, Pittsburgh in a minute over any of the cities mentioned. In Chicago, one can buy a great condo/apt on the north side for 300K or less, in a great neighborhood, right near the L, a few mins from The Loop. Winters have been tough in the past, but there hasn't been a difficult winter in years in the entire region. Cleveland and Pittsburgh are also wonderful in their own ways, great food culture and incredibly appealing cost of living. Major sports teams, world-class museums and symphonies. Playhouse Square in Cleveland is the largest professional theater cluster outside of NYC, by the way.
The midwest is coming.
The coasts are for Hillary loving pieces of trash.
Asheville, NC. Coast is a bit of a hike but plenty of other fresh water beaches.
Chicago? What is the cost of a kevlar vest?

Chicago is perfectly safe if you live on the north side. I've lived here for 5 years and have never even heard a single gunshot.

ABQ is a miserable, terrifying place.
Ignorant fool. Chicago is one of the great American cities, and also happens to be one of the very few majors where people live right in the city center, and is affordable compared to many of the rest. Every major sport, great economy and jobs availability, great museums, great architecture, fun-loving people, I could go on and on. Stay out of a few choice ghetto neighborhoods and it's safe as well. Anybody who has spent time in Chicago knows what a wonderful metro it is. It is truly one of the handful of best places in America.

Geelong, Australia.
Why not check into a Four Seasons hotel? They ought to provide you with everything you need.
Good theaters are a factor in your decision making process?
What kind of man says something like this?
A very happy man, almost to the point that he is considered Gay.

If it were such a great place real estate would cost more. Because more people would want to be there than say NYC or San Francisco.
It’s a market. And prices tell the tale. Low cost of living = crap hole.

What I'm looking for:
low cost of living
4 seasons, mild climate, I can't do sweltering summers anymore or depressing winters
A place where at least the urban areas are progressive
Generally good schools, they do not have to be top notch private schools, just good public school system
A place where people aren't rude for no fu'c'king reason ( most of east coast disqualified here )
Mountains when I want them, beaches when I want them
So Far I have come up with North Carolina and Virginia, they seem to have everything
Am I missing any?
You can't have it all, gonna have to compromise on something. I left SOCAL in the late 80's, lived in NH for 3 years. Maine for 10 now RI, on the east bay. Mild winters here, cool ocean breezes in the summer and 10 degrees cooler than inland. Have my sailboat moored in front of my house, nice SCUBA diving, plenty of places to run and bike. I go to my cabin in the western Maine mountains to ski, mountain bike, fish and hunt. About all I can ask for :)
So for you elite members of LRC, considerations of cultural amenities in a potential place to live should be made only by homosexuals? I understand one of you has Utah in your handle, but I would expect better even from a degenerate loser from there. And yes, theater, restaurants, museums and other cultural amenities matter to most people out there, at least the ones with teeth and the ability to read. Phukking losers, go back to phukking your sisters.
