Metric for sure.
Metric for sure.

It depends upon how fast you are. Duh.
That counts as a vote because you did present some facts others did not that are relative to the difference between meters and feet.

You could tell by reading that this was a vote for the Imperials.Imperials 5Metrics 3
Now I come to the fork in the road. Do I allow someone to vote twice? Since we know that people can use more than one name on LRC I'm going to allow this vote. But you did basically repeat what you said before without giving any new information. What you said is we must be more dedicated. I do not agree with that but since I am on the side of the Imperials I guess I have to allow this vote to count. Please be more original next time. Teach us something.***Note also that I added a Metric vote because I did not put it in on a previous post by a Metric player. Imperials 4Metrics 4
Whoops actually it's 5-4 Imperials after Stanley Allen Taylor's vote. I missed the Imperial vote before his. Notice that Stanley Allen Taylor's vote was his second one which I was fair to allow even though very little original info was given.
I will have to quit responding to every vote because I'm messing up. Part of that is due to my computer "freezing."
So try to be patient and keep your own count at home. I will try to respond to those whose vote does not count and explain why but that could get impossible if we get a lot of votes for this.
We'll see.

Please correct me if you know I am wrong and explain where I made a mistake.
Good luck with that.
Metric. Continuing to use feet and inches is just moronic.
Okay Boston12 says he is Canadian...that's his reason for voting metric.
Wow but I get to be judge even when it goes against what I want.
*** Runn1101 did not give a reason for voting for metric. It's too easy and not teaching anyone anything to not give a reason. GIVE A REASON.

Rules so far:1. State which you are for.2. Give a reason that has not already been given for why you vote as you do!Runn1101 did not give a reason for voting Metric so his vote was not allowed. Why would you not give a reason? Help us learn something! Help us see it in a different way!

This would increase the knowledge of fans because it would make it easier for average people to follow the best in each event.
Compared to the running events our field events stink. This hurts track & field as a sport. We have many young people involved but there is no money for their futures.
Let's take a poll. If you are for metric say so and why. If you are for feet and inches (Imperial) tell us so and your reason.
I will tabulate the poll votes which will be easy because it's very objective.
November is the cutoff on the vote. (Just whenever I can get to it.)

So Screwball Jackson and Fulton Sheen are one in the same .

feet and inches is the measurements of ignorant, mud-toting English peasants, almost all of who are long dead.
Metric is the base 10 system of science and enlightenment, introduced by Napoleon Bonaparte↔ along with other landmark inventions like pasteurization↔ and deciphering Egyptian hieroglyphs.
Those wizened old peasants still attending Hayward meets can guess how far the javelin goes by comparing it to the 100 meters conveniently marked off on the track nearby.
Hang on, didn't the inventors of the modern metric system get hunted and put in prison by the French masses?
Pasteurization, in 1864, pretty sure Napoleon was long dead by then. I think you will find that the Asians knew about it a thousand years ago.
Metric because about 200 countries use and understand it as opposed to imperial which is only used in the U.S., U.K. and possibly one or two others at most. Why should the majority bend to a tiny few?
Wow you're dumb. The world doesn't become dumber for you. Sorry meathead.
Metric. Because high jumping 7 ft, 6 5/8 inches just sounds stupid compared to 2.30 meters with intervals that rise by the centimeter in nice round numbers. And World shouldn’t have to conform to the stupidity of Americans.
Stanley Allen Taylor wrote:
You don't get it.
You should not be converting the distances. You should learn what a good mark is in the metric and never convert it to feet. It is not that hard.
If you actually were a true fan of field events you would know and learn what real marks are and not try to always convert them to feet.
And you don't get it and tell me what I should and shouldn't do. I am not a true fan of field events because they are not announced or posted in a distance that can be understood by the majority of people at a meet. It is a joke to believe that track "fans" are going to learn metric distances when the standard in the US is imperial. I will follow your lead when the football field is converted to 91.44 meters and guys hit 146.304 meter home runs. You are just a silly boy who wants his way.
Why don't we all speak Chinese since the majority of the world converses in that language.
https://www.babbel.com/en/magazine/the-10-most-spoken-languages-in-the-worldSorry, but you are wrong. If you watch the field event and see the performance and see the metric result, you will understand what the measurement means. You don't actually understand what measurements in feet are either, you just think that you do.
If you are watching the hammer throw, and someone threw 200 feet. You would only know if that is good or bad if you are familiar with the event and seen results listed in feet. The 200 feet itself does not tell you if it is a good throw or a bad throw. The same is true if the distance was reported as 60.96m. You would only know if that is good or bad if you are familiar with the event and had seen marks reported in meters.
Metric because it's a universal system that everyone understands except those Americans who are too lazy to figure it out.
People keep calling U.S. customary measures "Imperial," when they are not. Imperial and U.S customary are two related but different systems:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_the_imperial_and_US_customary_measurement_systems
Length is mostly the same in the 2 systems, but volume is not. Imperial pints and gallons are different from American pints and gallons, etc.
This is another reason to use metric. There's only one metric system and it's the same everywhere.
It was a good day for the Metrics.

I did not count "Subway Surfers," attempt at a vote because you could not tell which side he was for. He also repeated something someone else said.
