Is Waffle House considered Fine Dining?

Georgia native here. Waffle House is mediocre at best but it's useful: open 24 hours and many locations; nobody who drives the south (or Texas) hasn't eaten there at some point.

Won't look it up now but Virginia might be among last the smoking restaurant states which in Waffle House is hilarious: those booths over there, smoking; the rest, including those adjacent, non-.

If you hit Waffle House evenings or overnight you're pretty certain to meet "colorful" and sometimes depressed crew. It's not, I think, a great place to work though from the outside, it's not noticable discriminatory...

Let'sRun racists who don't want a black man cooking their food (and it's most often men who cook, women who waitress) want to avoid.

Waffle House jukebox is... "interesting." Their orange juice is awful.

It may not rival Osteria Francescana in Modena, Italy or El Celler de can Roca in Girona, Spain but it is nipping at their heels.

Fine dining as a part of the overall classification of restaurant types is different than calling a place that servers food that feeds your soul as in the comment " that's fine dining".

I had a meal with famed chef Jacques Pepin at a place in his home town of Madison CT and we agreed that lunch at Clam Castle is a fine dining experience.

Love them little joints. Definitely fine dining, yeah.

I'm going back and forth on my proper answer to this question. But if I ever stop waffling, I'll respond here.
