The Turkish guy is Kenyan as well.
I know Mike Kigen he WAS a Kenyan until about 2 years ago, but He is NOT Kenyan currently so he is NOW Non African, Same With KK, Just like Alberto Salazar WAS a Cuban at one time, and Diego Estrada WAS a Mexican, All Are NOW Americans.

With that said, I think both Roberson's will end up being better on the roads than the track. Btw, Zane looked really strong in the GNR, he didn't slow down, he simply could not match Mo's kick over 200 meters.
If we follow the formula of 2x your last half marathon time + 8 minutes he is at 2:10.
Allow for a super fast course and full taper, 2:08 at best.
But Kipchoge's last 1/2 before the sub 2 attempt was 59:1ish on the same Monza track, with the same structure. So that may not hold.

Post is about where they have been BORN... and Kigen is from (somewhere...) in Kenya....

I wouldn't call it a 'good shot', but there's certainly a chance considering the marathon could be his best event. This debut will be an excellent test of nature versus nurture.

2 x HM + 8 sounds about right for a marathoner running around 2:50.

The Great North Run was a race without pacing, Amsterdam will have pacing.
Anyhow Jake might be the one too watch over the marathon distance on current performances.

Sorry Doug, nope.

We are descendants of Africa. Well, except for some North European Whites who intermingled with Neanderthals.

So now it is not Africa the Continent. It is African the Race. Poor Centro is of African descent. He would never qualify if he pulled a Mo and went 1500m to Marathoner.

I could have sworn Centro is of White and Indian descent?

And where do Neanderthals come from?
And this is wrong anyway. The traditional view where species cleanly branch out does not work on humans for the last couple of hundreds of thousands of years. If I've kept up: we now think the latest batch out of Africa mixed with Neanderthals, Denisovans and possibly homo erectus in east Asia. Then, genes flowed everywhere. In particular, Neanderthal genes can be found as far as west Africa. Which also means the Neanderthals did not go extinct and the current humans are not exactly homo sapiens (as in the group that left Africa last). We're all a mixture. It's complicated.
Ah yes. Theories are like as**oles, everyones got one.
Indeed, we're probably nowhere near finishing the study of our origins.
I think people are confusing which Robertson brother ran better at the Great North Run and which Robertson brother is running Amsterdam.

yes, possibly , but we all have to agree Kipchoge is the exception.
Zane is not by any stretch of the imagination.

I get that the formula may not always hold. But referencing Kipchoges 59:19 in Monza is irrelevant. That was a test run to test the course, pacing and hydration methods, as well as gushing fitness. Kipchoge said he ran at 60% effort. Obviously that seems extremely low even for Kipchoge but the take away is that he didn't run even close to all out and the 59:19 can not be used to disprovr the 2xhalf+x minutes formula.
I think Galen Rupp has a shot at a sub 2:07 in Chicago
