Ethiopia famines and poverty vs. American abundance.
You probably mean who is better at not preventing the farmers from getting their work done.
Ethiopia is great at farming. They don't do well when civil war breaks out and disrupts things.
The USA probably didn't do that great in years like that either.
If they grew enough food they wouldn't break into Civil War fighting over scraps.
Oxy.
Beardsley could have run a 2:04 LONG before that was ho-hum, but there was this little matter about a power takeoff gizmo and scribbling doctor signatures.

They weren't. There was plenty of food. They just forgot to tend to it while squabbling.

I'm disappointed with how long I had to scroll to see this very real answer posted. C'mon, LetsRun.
American farmers are better at farming. Kenyan farmers are better at running.
USA 1, Kenya 0
Still the fastest farmer for another two weeks.
Why average Kenyan farmer can't deadlift 250 pounds like average American farmer
Look at how happy Dennis looks and tell me if he would care about petty gym posturing. He never looked that happy running.

A deadlift does not mean to stand up.
Not just farmers, way of life. Many Kenyans run to/from school, events, friends houses. By the time they are 13, many can run under 6 minute pace for 5 miles. Add to that, the volume. Take the average American kid who plays basketball. Thousands and thousands of them, right? Out of that, the best of the best go to big colleges and play against the best. Then, about 105 of those go to the next level, the NBA, right?
So, comparing Kenyan farmers to U.S. farmers is apples and oranges.
Our version of Kenyan runners is professional basketball players. The best of the best. But, only because we start with a very large number with high interest as children, and considered "a way out" from low income lives. And a chance to be a star.
The same is true in Kenya, but for running. All their stars are runners. And, instead of basketball, all the children run and hope to become a great runner and a star. Just like many American boys and girls do with basketball. The real difference is the girls in Kenya are seen in their sport of running. How many American actually watch the WNBA?
Sorry, the 105 was a mistake, the button did not make the %. Instead it made the 5.
Farm subsidies.

Disagree because they did invent coffee, not us.
I guess that should be a point for Ethiopia though.
What It's Genetic said.
Plus, I'm pretty sure Max Yasgur time trialed a 2:04 with Gerry Lindgren.
Kenyan farmer avg.: 5'7" 132 lbs
US farmer avg.: 6'3" 278 lbs
US farmers will destroy and break Kenyan farmers in football.
