I'm not a gun owner either. I agree with all that you said, plus if I had a gun, I'd be quite concerned
about using it in an inappropriate manner. Not having one keeps that from happening, and that's why I don't.
I also do not own a gun. But from everything I have read gun owners are trained to shoot multiple times in the chest. You are supposed to aim for the chest to make sure you do not miss. It is the biggest area. It is too easy to aim for their leg and miss, or shoot them in the leg and they keep coming at you. People often don't go down with just one bullet so that is why they say to shoot multiple times.

No, it wasn't. There's clearly something going on here besides a so-called "home invasion"; one of the comments in the legit Chicago paper (not the three-weeks-late trash that started this thread) mentions the shooter was dating the mother of the one of the decesaed.
That doesn't necessarily change the narrative but we'll see, if this case even gets a full investigation, which doesn't appear certain.
Remember too from Chicago Sun Times:

They don't brake in in the afternoon when people are in the house and definitely not at night like in the movies. At the the first time my house was broken into I couldn't get in because the chain was locked from the inside (he got through the balcony). He locked it in case someone comes he would have enough time to flee. In both cases they were looking for cash and made a whole mess in the house, not finding anything. So grow up with this movies line of thought that burglars come at night to kill you, and you should have a gun and kill them first. Your gun will kill one of your kids before any burglar
