Not illegal, but unethical.

And the clown comments and such is just shameful. Who taught you to speak of women in such a way? How do we as a community allow such bully and spite continue?
Thank you, good sir. It is nice to occasionally see a level-headed perspective within the rubble.
You mean that guy who's always hanging out on the infield? I thought he was a meet official. Or Galen's dad.
From the tone of some of these posts, I imagine there are some BTC/OTC/NOP athletes, or people closely associated with them, posting in this thread.
For context: the relevant portion of Shannon's interview is below (1:33 mark)

I find it a little odd that -- according to Shannon -- Alberto didn't tell her why he wasn't coming to Worlds and she didn't ask. But, as Shannon said, she mostly works with Pete Julian, something that is well known, and Pete was in London.

So to clarify, if one of us speaks up against the prolific athlete/coach bashing on these message boards, we must actually be one of the targets (or someone close to them)? Is it really difficult to believe that anybody else would be against that type of behavior?
I'm sorry, but that is really a rather sad commentary and it says a lot more about you (and that standard cynical LetsRun frame of mind) than it does about us.
I wouldn't call that throwing Alberto under the bus. That would involve some actual criticism.
It's more that she's publicly keeping her distance from him. And who can blame her?

She's likely distancing herself to cover for her use of PEDs. She went to NOP after the accusations. She clearly went there for an "advantage" and consequently set the AR.

It sounds like Salazar is pulling back from the Oregon Project and is going to retire. Who does he still coach? Julian coaches Jenkins, Hassan, Rowbury, Engels, Osako. Who does Salazar coach anymore? Mo clearly has moved beyond him. Rupp for sure. But that seems to be kinda it? I guess maybe Centro, but who knows, Julian might coach him too.
I read somewhere that Centro's dad became his coach last year. Can anyone confirm this?

Correction: steering her mint condition DeLorean around him. Shannon is very bourgeois. The initiation fee for the San Francisco Olympic Club is $100,000 with annual dues of $20,000/year. Not sure if she is also a member like her father but she did have her wedding at the club. You get the idea. Shannon can afford to spend her early adult life sleeping and training.

Understood. Thanks for making LetsRun a better place.
It's good to know that athletes and coaches will always be judged fairly on these message boards, despite the numerous racist, misogynistic, and homophobic posts from anonymous cowards.

Reading is fundamental, my friend. You see, I haven't authored any racist, misogynistic, or homophobic posts on the message boards. As a result, I am merely anonymous, not a coward. I haven't said anything that should necessitate an apology.

1) you're anonymous- beautifully ironic considering your satirical rant
2) you're definitely not my friend
Does Alberto still coach Mary Cain?
-asking for a friend.
Not a rip at all Jonathan, but I just looked up your Linkedin. Is this what you do for a living? They pay you that well?

1) No satire intended, and it isn't ironic because I wasn't bashing an athlete/coach or making prejudiced comments of any kind. There is a big difference between making a simple anonymous post and using that anonymity to author something offensive and/or slanderous. This really isn't a difficult concept, but you make it seem like it is.
2) Thankfully.
It could be possible that most of the athletes on the team, have become aware of just what exactly was going on, and are doing their best to distance themselves from the situation, for the time being. In the best articles, interviews, and the Flo series made it seem like Alberto was the main coach, that he was very involved, and everyone spoke very highly of his help. Centro even said when he turned pro his coach was either gonna be Salazar or his dad.
I know Shannon has been outspoken before about doping, and how dopers have tested positive in her championship races. You can definitely tell in the video she didn't feel comfortable with the question.
We have to remember as well that these athletes still have contracts and are making a living on behalf of Nike. Kara had moved on, and was towards the end of her competitive career, other people are not.
Kara visited the same dr in Texas everyone else did.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
