Diniz speaking on French TV now, TV2. Good timing, it is lunchtime in France, everyone watching. He is France's new hero, but the irony is most people don't respect race walkers. French sports paper, l'Equipe, is 90 percent football/soccer. Athletics, minor coverage, but everyone knows Bosse now, esp. because of his charisma. He takes the piss out of people on live TV, Bosse that is.

Henriques wins women's in 4.05.58. Crying with emotion. Diniz's grandfather is Portuguese, also.
El Keniano - any race walkers in Kenya, or do Kenyans find race walking ridiculous, which I suspect might be the case ?

There were only SEVEN entrants in the women's race and only four finishers. Easy money!
Women's 20K walk under way now. Americans are 20 and 30 seconds behind already after the first 5K. #MARWGA
Whatever happened to the kid the US had that was supposed to be the next "big" thing in racewalking. I use the term "big" very loosely because no one gives a sh*t in the US about racewalking.

Sorry, took a break but was still watching. Yes, plenty of race walkers. But none are good enough to make the cut. One managed a bronze medal the the U18s in Nairobi and it caused a bit of excitement as it's a non-trandional event in Kenya.
Saw the Diniz interview with the awful sound between the presenters and their stadium perch and Diniz at the venue. They also interviewed Kevin Mayer on the news but he seems like a rather subdued character too, doesn't have Bosse's personality. 3 Gold medals. The French have done pretty well this time outperforming other big Western European nations like the UK, Germany, Italy and Spain.
Bravo les gars.
