You make a compelling point about his 400 potential, based on his 600, 1.13, p.b. Based on this, Bosse might be capable of 46.00-46.50 for 400, similar to Coe's best for 400. Almost definite that Bosse has more leg speed compared with Kszczot. On the other hand, were Kszczot to train seriously for 1500, a time of 3.32 might result. Bosse, though, hates long stuff, so I do not think, at this stage, that he will move up to 1500.
Dunno!
I'd say that Kszczot had better 400 speed than Bosse, but the Frenchman had better 1000m ability!
If Kszczot has a 400 pb of 46.5 (and then ran a 46.8 in the final the next day) from 2011, when he set his 800 pb of 1:43.3, then that was probably the best he could do, and it was at height of season. With a bit of focus and perfect conditions, he probably goes 46.0 - 46.2; perhaps just under 46.
Bosse's pb is 47.5 last year, when his best 800 was 1:43.4. Now that was at end of season, and in that 600m of 1:13 he went through 400m in about 47.5 too, albeit with a bit of drafting benefit from Rudisha.
So he could probably have run a 47 flat last year, but as his 800pb is 1:42.5 from 2014, then he was probably capable of 46 low - 46 mid that year.
So they were probably pretty close over 400 at their best, with Kszczot maybe having a slight edge.
