That athletic.net says he ran the 4:26 and another time a bit slower for 1500m earlier in July just before the 4:36 mile, at junior olympics. It also says he is in the 13-14 age group, rather than 11-12. So, there's a discrepancy. Anyway, it doesn't matter. The kid's fast and will be running low fours by the time he's a junior and senior in high school.
Age groups are determined bu your age on Dec 31. He apparently will turn 13 later this year thus making him "13" at any age group track meet in 2017.
Be interesting to see how he does next week. The 1500 USATF NR is 4:04 for 13/14, unlikely to get that but he has a whole nother year to chase it.
