Yeah i am... which color group are you in?
done it twice. a lot of fun.
Not sure the color # but am in the Elite seeding.
I am. first time. That hill looks tough.
There a a few hills which one you talkin' about? Doomsday? Cementary?
Get there early. Also I would reccomend signing up for second seed if you can't make elite seed. You have to wade through a bunch of old people and other guys who think they are fast for the first mile, but it's still good starting position. And yea that hill sucks ass. What's even worse is the last mile, because you can see the finish in front of you but it takes forever to get there.
bump
I'm in the elite seeding too. i'm not really doing it as a race. This is my last time doing bloomsday. so i figure lets go out with a bang.. and see what happens. i've done it every year for the past 18 years. it sucks to move away.
First mile is pretty flat, second mile is gradual downhill and you can get sucked into running too fast there because you then hit the "tombstone hills" in the 3rd mile. The 4th mile is moderate to flat, the fifth mile is almost all downhill and you can really get rolling. You hit Doomsday Hill just past the 5 mile mark and it's about 1/2 mile long before you flatten out and remain pretty flat the last two miles to the finish.
This will be my 20th Bloomsday in 22 years. I hate the damn course, I do it more out of tradition than anything else.Always a good field and overall a very well organized race. The trade show the day before the race is top notch.
Last year during the race I collapsed five feet from the finish line and was taken to the medical tent with a core temperature of 108. After being packed in ice and 4 IV's of fluid I survived quite nicely.
I meant the doomsday hill. The course looks tough to run well on i.e. not going hard enough in mile 2 or 5 or spending too much on the hill. But what the hell I guess thats what racing is all about.
