Title says it all, kid is a total stud. Negative split last lap with a great kick. What can he do in the future?
If they can actually get the third world runners to undergo out of competition testing he may be a medalist in the future.
Awesome time, but I'm pretty sure it isn't a new mile WR.
He needs a more catchy name. That's way too hard to pronounce.
Wait -- on LR it's either a short track, or he's doped to the gills LOL. Great run by him - seems very cool, collected, and did not seem stressed at all during the race. It helped that the pacers were right on the money with the splits.

Jay-Cub
Your Welcome
I'm pretty sure it's a new 16 yo mile WR, like the title says.
The English is wrong in the title so no it doesn not say that.
Maybe there is a new mile? Is it longer or shorter than the old mile?
Remarkable. I ran 4:10 as as sophomore (age 16) in the 70's. This guy would be 100 meters (or more ahead). Impressive.
Such a beast. More talent than Jim Ryun and German Fernandez combined.
Webb was 3:53 at 17. Which is better?
I guess we'll see when he's 17

The English is wrong in your response too.

Ryun ran 3:39.0 1500m a couple of months after turning 17, which is pretty close to equivalent to Ingebrightsen's mile.

*3:56.29. Not sure where you got the .31 from (yup I'm gonna be that guy lol, letsrun posters love to make up inaccurate decimals in times).

.31 was the unofficial time first shown on TV.

Nope, Webb was 18. His birthday was January of 1983 and he ran 3:53 in 2001.
Iguider ran 3:35.53 1500m at 17 years and about 4 months. Then there are of course several Kenyans who have run much faster 1500m equivalents, but their U18 status is 'questionable'.
I don't know. Ingebrigsten isn't that hard once you read it once, and it's a pretty baller name. Jeez this kid is good.
