He ran a 15:00 at NXN Heartland Regionals last year as well.

Fragility is not a virtue
Devons Hart of NJ is another sophomore who has gone 9:05. He actually won the Meet Of Champs 3200 this spring. He was good last year in xc but look for bigger things this fall. He should definitely be the top NJ guy by the end of the season.
Agree with F-M. Agree with Top 2 boys teams but look for these teams to reach the podium:
St. Xavier, KY (13th last year with 6 of 7 returning)
Springville, UT (3rd in tough Region and returns 1,2 4,5,7)
Loudoun Valley, VA, (3rd in Region, returns top 6 and adds Affolder)

I'd be interested in seeing an analysis of NXN teams from last year and who they are returning. Loudon Valley looks scary (with their returners + the success on the track + Affolder), and Springville should certainly see an uptick as well (young group last year).
Downers Grove, IL 12th last year with 5 of 7 returning.
York may be back in the mix: Top five 1600 PR's: 4;11, 4:22, 4:23, 4:24, 4:28
Individuals from Midwest region should be strong. Of the six underclassmen at NXN in the top thirty last year, four of them were from the Midwest.
Gabe Fendel IN (4:04/8:50)
Dustin Horter OH (4:07/8:56)
Dylan Jacobs IL (4:07/9:11)
Danny Kilrea IL (4:12/9:00)
others out of IL:
Clayton Mendez (4:11/8:59 solo)
Charlie Kern (York) (4:11; individual NXN qualifier as a sophomore; 14:12 and 14:22 for 3 miles; 2nd and 4th place at state)
So, how does it feel to wake up everyday and know you live in the Heartland?

Here's a quick look at the returners from some the Boys NXN teams:

2. American Fork - 4, 5, and 6 returning.
3. Brentwood - 1, 3, 5 returning.
4. Davis - 7th man returning (but they always have depth)
5. Naperville/Neuqua - #2 returning.
6. Temecula/Great Oak - 1, 2, 5, and 7 returning.
7. Lincroft - 1, 3, and 7 returning.
8. Woodlands - 2, 4, 5, 7 returning
9. Liverpool - 4, 5, 6, and 7 returning
10. Wayzata - 1, 2, 4, 6, and 7 returning
11. Southlake Carroll - 5, 6, and 7 returning
12. Downers Grove - 1, 4, 5, 6, and 7 returning
13. Louisville - 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 returning.
14. Dana Hills - 2, 3, 4, 6, and 7 returning.
15. Springville - 1, 2, 4, 6, and 7 returning.
16. Cathedral (SD) - 1, 3, and 6 returning.
17. Mahomet Seymour - 1, 2, and 6 returning.
18. Edina - #2 returning.
19. Fayetteville Manlius - 3, 4, and 6 returning.
20. Central (OR) - 3, 5, and 7 returning.
21. Park - 3, 4, 5, and 7 returning.
22. Westport - 1, 2, 4, and 5 returning.
In looking at that,Wayzata, Downers Grove, Louisville, Dana Hills, Springville should be solid this year. Brentwood has the best individual returner in Hasty,

I believe you can count out Brentwood's 1-3 returners. None running for the team, according to rumors. It looks like their run is over.

Oh, good point.
Carmel (who didn't qualify for NXN last year) looks like they could also be solid:
Ben Miller 9:10.74
Colin Murphy 9:24.41
Thomas Gastineau 9:34.07
Keelan Grant 9:36.71
Calvin Bates 9:37.52
Trey Harris 9:45.99
Cam Harless 9:59.57

Is this for sure?
Loyola in CA looks like they could be strong.

2. 11 Liam Jamieson 9:28.33a Apr 7 Arcadia Invitational (Fri/Sat)
3. 9 Anthony Stone 9:30.34a Apr 7 Arcadia Invitational (Fri/Sat)
4. 11 Brandon Cobian 9:30.45a May 5 mission League finals

Not as strong as Loudon Valley:
1. 11 Peter Morris 9:12.65a May 5 Dogwood Classic
2. 11 Colton Bogucki 9:13.25a May 5 Dogwood Classic
3. 10 Jacob Hunter 9:27.40a Apr 21 Wolverine Classic
4. 9 Kevin Carlson 9:39.27a May 5 Dogwood Classic
5. 10 Jacob Windle 9:41.87a May 12 Millbrook Last Chance
6. 11 Chase Dawson 9:48.96a May 5 Dogwood Classic
Add in Sam Affolder ( 4:08, 9:02), and that's a damn good top 7. Morris and Bogucki ran 15:14 and 15:16 last year, and Hunter the Younger looks much improved from when he ran 15:43.

Affolder transferring? Was he not doing well with his team? Seems like hes run decently.
His dad is in the military and they move a lot, I believe his father got a job in the Pentagon and they made the decision to have his senior year at Loudon Valley. They're gonna be insane.
Affolder will only be a junior, so two years with Loudoun Valley.
Affolder will give Loudoun Valley a major boost. Looking at these 3200 times, if they can get a 5th runner closer to their 4th, and all of their top 5 perform their best at NXN, they will be invincible at NXN.
