i must admit i had no interest in working out estimates for this kid, a stick who got slaughtered by pasty-face in euros
i reckoned she woud be coupla years shy of getting upto likes of the pasty-face
i swear i have no idea of the stix 400 speed as i said i have not looked up anything on her after her thrashing in euros & nauseating "stickness"
Oh, you're a delight Vento.
The 800 was run with splits of 57/86-87. I think she can definitely run at least a second faster.

well, i'll have to look at ~ 1'58-mid
but remember, she is training for 1500/800 or perhaps 800/1500
to run intrinsic likely smoothly-paced-to-3k-requisite ~ 14'35 off above training is absurd !!!
the above training means huge drop off for flat-out 5k as you don't have endurance for 5k off 1500 let alone 800 training
it can't be done
in those circumstances you have to guestimate an over-distance, which is easily understandable by extrapolating Big-Man in '12 off 1'40.9
it's easy to expect he couda extrapolated to 3'25/3'26 that day, but of course he trained for 800 & if he broke 3'32 that day, it wouda been incredible
there is 6 or 7s difference loss in 1500 expected because only training for under-distance
however, the stick-gal has seemingly little of above as you still have to offer her ~ 14'35
we are now searching for ~ 1'58.5 / 14'35
i'm not happy she coud get this good this quick unless spent last 3 months hugely powering up in gym
i can't argue if she did so with big mass increase but she looks to have little mass increase ?!
running is all about weight-training & intrinsic basic sprint speed with endurance added on in whichever order you want
that is "equation"
huge benefits with extra speed with little mass increase
an estimate for above :
55.00 / 1'58.25
->
3'55.75
8'22.43
14'35.39
30'53.90
look
i can't really help you with her "drop-off"
she/coach/pa has good idea of current 400 speed
they know what distance she is training for
if 5k is it, then those are good
if she is is training for 1500/800 or even 800/1500, she can chop off a lot ?!
When I first saw this post I knew Budd would come up.She is not African born, but South African. Yes, same continent, but what did OP really mean? Often these type of posts mean non black. We aren't stupid.Zola counts in this context. Be more specific next time.

I seriously hope you're joking.
Klosterhalfen is training vor 1500/5000. The 800 was something like a speed test for her.
From what i know she doesn't have that explosive sprint speed, but of course she is quite fast if she can start the 800 in 57 and still finish under 2 min.
For this year, i think she could run something like 1'58 and 3'57'5 if things go really well. For the 5000 under 14:40.
In my opinion, her future is in the longer distances, where she could medal over 5000 oder 10000 with a long acceleration, cause she seems to have no fear while running, she's always ready to run from the front.
She doesn't run so many miles right now, so she should have A LOT OF POTENTIAL for the distances of 5000 and more, think European Records.
If both stay healthy we might see interesting competions between Muir and her.

Tvilsom til at de har rent mel i posen.

My goodness. Fearless racer. If it ends up that her best event is like 10k or the marathon, like it was for Paula, watch out!!!
Is it just me or does she only look 14?
Either that or she looks like a anorexic model.
But boy does she have courage.
Eg har ingen grunn til å tru at IK var dopa. Bakken/Evensen dreiv

So should El Guerrouj not count in the "African-born" discussions because he's not black? Does Justyn Knight get lumped into the "African born" crowd because he is black, despite probably sharing very little DNA with the actual "African born" runners? What about runners of mixed race born in Africa, or outside of it with an African parent? Hell, Centrowitz may have some African ancestry on his mom's side, surely he must be "African born" because we all know it's really just a euphemism for black runners according to you.
Sorry chief, Zola Budd is as African born as they come, why don't you put your pasty ass back in a time machine to 1930s Germany where you might fit in a little better.
After taking 3rd in 3:59.30 in Rome in early June she comes back on 7/10/17 and wins her national title in 3:59.58 while second place was over 4:10

Almost certainly a WC finalist and seems possible to medal.
