Is my husband right... Running decreasing my sex drive?

I often want sex immediately after a run. And yeah, at 10:00pm at night I'm exhausted and I do have to wake up at 4:00am to run so sometimes I want to sleep. Is that being selfish?

I think he isn't used to the "I'm tired" nights and thinks it is due to a high training load. It is not the weekend long runs, it's the track workouts and tempos crammed into workdays that kill my sex drive at night during the week. Maybe setting up set "sex days" and "rest days" would help. Thanks for the insight! Nothing like scheduling sex into a training schedule.

No way running decreases your sex drive. If anything, running increases sex drive. How many times have you ever been doing a long hard tempo or some intervals and just thought "oh f*** me"

Yup, have heard the same. It's something you definitely have to feel out tho cuz otherwise you look like the guy who was too intense and shot his load way too early.

I will preface this by saying that you are having a significant amount of sex already. That doesn't really matter though. My wife and I (I'm a dude) have sex about once a week on average. Two kids, early 30's. Here is the thing, I am perfectly happy with that. I am not a particularly horny dude and she isn't a particularly amorous girl. When I was younger (early 20's) she wanted sex about once a week still but I wanted more. It caused stress in our relationship because we didn't truly talk about it beyond, "I want more" and "I want less". I started to feel like she didn't want me or find me attractive and she started to see me as pushy and only touching her if I wanted sex. We eventually talked it out and it got better, I compromised some and she compromised some. My sex drive has dropped as I have gotten older and hers has increased some so we line up more in our desire levels than we used to. At some point she may be more interested than I am but we continue to communicate to avoid problems.

As far as does running decrease sex drive, I don't know of any studies but my wife feels better about how she looks when she works out (she is more of a spinning class kind of girl) which makes her more interested in sex. When she doesn't feel good about her body she doesn't want to have sex as much. Honestly stress is the biggest killer of sex drive. Keep running and communicate honestly.
