If your entire life revolves around killing things of beauty just to watch them die, I don't have much sympathy, even if you are "more important" than the things you are destroying.

Disagree with it all you want, but celebrating his death is crass and unbecoming. He left a family behind.
And yea, I'll go out on a limb and say humans are more important than animals. If you drove past a dead person in the road you'd probably stop - you probably don't stop for dead deer and squirrels.
I'm more important than your dog, so I expect you'll be fine with me coming to your house and kicking it to death on those grounds alone?
