No, that isn't the problem. The problem is that our guys aren't running fast enough. The fact that we get "all a-twitter" when a guy runs 13:27 has nothing to do with it. There's nothing wrong with getting excited when a college guy has a huge PR and shows promise for the future. No one said he's going to beat Bekele. Who knows if that's even his goal - if his goal is just 13:05 or whatever, then fine - he doesn't have to run fast for you. Either be happy that the guy is having success, or shut the f*** up. Being down in the dumps just because the best runner in the world is from Ethiopia isn't going to get you or me anywhere.
