I ran 4 years in high school, 4 years in college and had a relatively successful career. While dealing with the highs and lows of the sport as most runners do I also had my fair share of injuries which ultimately led to my competitive career coming to an end. Fast forward 8 years and I have put on more then 50lbs over my ideal racing weight. I had pretty much burnt myself out physically, mentally and emotionally leaving me with no real interest to run for a good 8 years. Here and there I would go out for a couple miles but by no means had an consistent schedule or training regimen. I am finally looking to find some structure back and hopefully look forward to training towards an end goal. The first thing I would like to do is cut some of this weight. I know its a ways away but maybe eventually get into training for a half. I feel my intentions are in the right place but am still finding it hard to get back into the grind of running on a daily basis. Has anyone had a similar experience or have any advice that could help try and get back me the game.
Thanks
