This is outrageous
I wouldn't call it "gender doping." That implies that the individual is intentionally changing genders for the specific purpose of boosting athletic performance. I don't know enough about the specifics of whether a transgender female who meets the Olympic standard is biologically on equal footing with athletes who were born female, but I am quite certain that these folks aren't deciding to become females so they can gain an athletic advantage.

Um... ever heard of Caster Semenya?
You are acting as though these women have a choice. If they under go gender reassignment, should we simply exclude them from all sport? Where's the fairness in doing so? They should be given the same rights and opportunities as every other person. You are terrible to imply otherwise. Moran.

Yes, I have. What does that have to do with my post? Caster Semenya isn't even a transgender woman. She is a woman with high testosterone levels. How is that in any way related to whether men are deciding to become transgender women for the sole purpose of winning women's athletic events?

I think you're missing my point. I'm not saying anything about the rules that currently allow transgender females to compete if they meet certain criteria. As I said, I don't know enough about the science to have an educated opinion on that. What I am saying is that I do not believe these women transition for the purpose of gaining an athletic advantage.
Reminds me of that one episode of South Park where Cartman acts like he has down syndrome to win the Special Olympics, Lol.

All competitive sport where they would compete against others who aren't the same biological sex, yes.
Being "sensitive" to other people isn't a good thing if you're just enabling someone's mental illness. I pity these poor people and they're now being exploited in an attempt to move the needle.

Please enlighten us on how transgender folks are simply suffering from a mental illness. You are aware that there some biological differences that are often measurable between transgender people and other people who were born their same gender, no?
The only thing disgusting is how you have the audacity to call another human being a "thing."
Being able to compete is not a right and is a privilege, but people shouldn't be so quick to want to take that away from people without doing thorough research on the topic.

Maybe not in the west. But in authoritarian countries, where notions of national honor is higher and the power of state coercion is greater, this will more and more become a real and successful sporting strategy.
Based on the other marathon runner thread i expect this only to increase in prevalence as time goes on
The craziest person I saw was the woman who believed she should be blind, so she had her eyes put out.

Though now she has a whole new world of sport open to her
They just need to have two new transgender classes and everyone will be happy.
