The bad news is he was on 2:05:43 pace at 30k .

2:03:54 pace at 40km
Are you saying that because white cloth reflects light, it reflects all forms of energy?
Chumba no where in sight, 4 min to go for Kipsang

I have it a 2:03:57 but close. He'll be 2:04 low when it's over. Japanese All-Comers record.
He is getting close to being the 1st guy apparently to complete the career grand slam. THey should get rid of the $500,000 WMM major annual prize and offer $5 million for career slam.
Kipsang is on 2:03:55 pace at 40k so he'll need to rally to break 2:04
Running 2:03 in Tokyo would still be pretty impressive.
Oh the move!
Taking out patriotic bias, how many Japanese guys could have been capable of making the US Olympic team? I think a fair share could have been under 2:12 in LA.

If use an infrared lense on your camera, you can see through people's shirts.
Attempts to break 2 minutes! Genius commentator strikes again.

Definitely.
God, it's hard to believe Kipsang is slowing down. He looks amazing.

Hmmm. I think you are talking about land area. At 127 million population they are larger in population, by far, than any US state. I don't see how land area matters for depth in marathoning? More better training routes? At similar time of count the USA at 318 million is less than three times the size (again, population). Japan's area is 146 thousand square miles and four states are larger, yes, and the continuous US is about 21 times as large. But again, that size I don't see impacting marathon depth.
Just goofing but still making a point. Bumpy is about to get beaten by 100 Japanese men!!!!!

Tokyo is slower than Berlin still it seems.
Great effort! Perhaps a world record effort if ran at Berlin.
2:03:58!! Nice
