That was my Achilles hell (sic), so to speak. A torn plantar fascia, that would slow me down for four years. Other than one stress fracture, and a few bouts with sciatica, I had nothing but a handful of minor muscle strains, two falls, and the bowling ball incident. ;-)
The one that shuts you down the longest. What's worse: A PF issue that shuts you down for a week or an ITB that shuts you down for a month? Or try: An ITB that shuts you down for a week or a PF that shuts you down for month?
IMO, the worst muscle pull injury is lower back. You can’t do anything without pain.
Severe shin splints suck, but I didn't know misery until I got PF. It felt like getting stabbed in my foot every time I stepped down on it, and I had no timetable for recovery. Apparently, my case was mild, since I was able to walk normally after 4 months. I can't imagine being a professional runner or basketball player and getting that - your recovery time is just a big ???.
That is what I thought at first, as well. Wrong.
