I have the forerunner 225, I love it.
What interests you about getting a garmin? I'm interested in getting a hummer from a nasty ginger. I want to track my hold back time and semen velocity.
check out the link above.
figure out what features you might want and how much you're willing to spend.
the above recommendation for 225 is a good one, considering the current price under $150 on Amazon. It's great for pace/distance, but not great if you're buying it for the heart rate monitoring. None of the wrist based HR monitors are perfect (and chest straps have their own limitations) but the 225 is a step down from others.

Garmin's do a good job tracking your runs and I've found mine to be pretty accurate. One big caution is they aren't that good from a durability standpoint.
You may think its a good idea to get a refurbished one on Amazon for $80 or thereabouts, don't it will break within a year. I would recommend buying a new one on Amazon or wherever is cheapest and paying the extra $8 for 3year warranty rather than the standard 1 year. Chances are incredibly high it will break in 2-3 years based on the experience I've had and that of fellow runners I know.
