Yeah...in the "Planet of the Apes, they look like they could play a mean game of tennis! ðŸµ

I would like to see Nadal versus Serena.

haha, nice one
W is the time of the year to come over tomorrow and get some rest tomorrow and I’ll let you know when I get home I’ll be there in a bit I’ll be
Females between 40-55
Males between 50-65
These are the ranges I’d expect to see from trained people. Obviously playing tennis at an elite/olympic level requires decent/trained cardio, but by no means does it require an elite vo2 max. They are more fast twitch trained than slow twitch so I could see them running decent (not super fast, but decent) 100s-400s.
Elite male tennis players:
100: 10.5-13 sec
200: 22-29 sec
400: 48-65 sec
Elite female tennis players:
100: 12-14.5 sec
200: 25-33 sec
400: 55-75 sec
When Graf was 17 or so, she ran 800m in 2:03-04. If she had trained for the event, she could have been faster than the "other" Steph Graf from Austria.
To all the arm chair theorists, who said 50ish LOL.
I made an account just so I can give you real numbers.
For the record I used to be an elite level tennis player. D1 college, National level Junior in my country, top 100itf played futures and satellite tournaments.I trained like a pro, I lived in Barcelona and was full time player at Club Esportiu Laieta and did the entire thing. 8am wake up 9-12 morning practice, 12-2 first gym. 2-4siesta. 4-6 second practice, 6-7 second gym hour. When you get back you are finished. You eat and collapse at 8-9 and sleep 11-12 hours.
You do incredible endurance cardio. 5 set matches can last 5+ hours, most 3 set matches oh clay last 2-3 hours. the fact that you can breaks in between points is irrelevant, because for the time of the point you play 100%, and you have very little time to recover.
We cycled 40k around the club and ran 10k alternating 4 times per week. I can tell you the 10k was under 40 minutes and the 40k cycling took u in the low 50s. The grounds were relatively flat and they had new pavement.
And that was after a 3 hour good morning practice, after some ice and stretching.
I did my vo2 on the treadmill with the actual oxygen mask. I was 74ml when I was 19.
This is for sure comparable with all the clay courts where you have to maintain an incredible schedule 5 times a week, you play a match on the 6th day and you rest on the 7th.
When you play North American guys on clay who trained on hard you can outrally then because they gas out through the rally.
My 2 cents
Were you all given EPO at the academy in Barcelona?
And what about a gorilla beatjng a human if you could train it sufficiently to serve? I'm thinking it would be more possible with a chimpanzee.
currently listening to mumble rap on spotify and it makes way more sense than your blabbering

Good for him. How fast would Andy be?
I dont know over long distance, but i read an article saying that Murray doesn't do 400 meter reps as it left him exhausted and sore the next day, he now does his cardio on the versaclimber. As for how fast i think Murray too heavy and bulky for 5k and above, could definitely run a sub 5 minute mile with little training.
If they introduced weight classes into distance running, I would guess that the 80 - 90 kg class would be dominated by athletes who look like tennis players. In fact even the heavier weight classes would as well, just even taller tennis players like John Isner, or Martin Cillic.

All I can think about is what would happen to the line judge if they made a poor call against a silverback.
From the book 'Federer, the quest for perfection' by Rene Stauffer:
"Federer could run 3.300m in 12 minutes and 9.300m in 40 minutes".
Which is VO2 of about 54.
That 85 is a bit misleading. probably on an incline walking protocol, so inflated by 20-25%.
A fit elite tennis player is ~60-65ml/kg on a flat running protocol, 2:50-3' km capability.
Most capable of < 60 for 400m.
Few would be motivated beyond 3' duration.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Guys between age of 45 and 55 do you think about death or does it seem far away
