Hopefully Trump will slap a tax on the cookie makers so that girl scouts have to bake again.

My, that's an ignorant assertion. Pulled that one right out of your azz?
The public solicitation is usually illegal. Feel free to call the cops, but do it anonymously since the story will have a good chance of ending up in the paper about how some jerk hates Girl Scouts.
As for the coworkers, you pretty much need to support all of those stupid fundraisers, or just ignore them. I only buy cookies if I have met the kids and am friends with the parent.

I just don't want those crappy cookies. If I wanted to get fat and eat cookies, I'd buy Tim Tams.
Mate,
Leave the Aussies out of this. Tim Tams are the best. And we have the balls to look a 10 year old girl in the eye, smile, and say 'no thanks', and not let it ruin our day.
Cheers.
Put me down for two boxes of thin mints!
Not really man its a nice strain
Annoyed? ...you kidding? I love 'em. I enjoy powering thru a box of tag-a-longs w/ coffee. One year I dropped $42+ on those cookies. The kids get a kick out of seeing me opening the box right there and start munching.

Yep. Got asked by four different co-workers if I would buy their daughter's cookies. The companies that make these cookies must be making a killing on almost free labor.
Truthfully this is unfortunately a huge scam. The local troop sees little if any of the money they raise. It goes to professional central office girl scout leaders who do well with the returns.
The cookies are over priced and unhealthy. Years ago my wife volunteered to collect money for my daughters troop and distribute boxes. The money collected was quite a lot. Much more than we expected.
The girls used to watch a movies teaching them how to put the pinch on relatives, neighbors and parent coworkers. I remember them telling the girls to be sure to call not just local but also distant relatives. They were trained if someone said they wanted to buy, to never say which kind, but to say, how many do you want?
They were exploiting the girls and their relatives.
Also, how can you say no to coworkers?
Scam.
Guess I'm rude because I believe I shouldn't be harassed with attempts of guilt to buy cookies while I'm minding my own business.
Harassment is not rude? Epitome of post-truth insanity.
Fvck off.

Terrible cookies. I wish they'd just ask for donations. I don't want to be stuck with boxes of garbage just because I gave money to your cause.
I like the cookies, you could give your cookies to me. I support the Girl Scouts and understand the need to raise money, I am getting hit up too much.
No
I've never been asked more than twice (going in and out) and often they don't even directly ask. Maybe I'm not enough of a cookie snob, but I like the Thin Mint and Samoa/Carmel deLites cookies.

Intimidated by a 10-year old?... at what age were your balls cut off?

They're too busy running sub 17 minute 5ks to worry about baking you some cookies.
In my office my co-workers do not go around and ask directly to buy their child's latest fundraiser item. One handles it by having their daughter write a short note next to the order form which is placed in our break room. Co-workers may order if they want or not order without feeling guilty for directly saying no. The co-workers daughters explains who she is in the note and says how to indicate on the form if you want the cookies donated to a charity.
At one time, years ago, I thought I heard the girls received 25 cents per box when the boxes cost $2 or $3. I am not sure if that was true or what they receive now. I always thought a direct donation of $1 would be better than buying 4 boxes of cookies that I would binge eat and add to my girth. Now that I have been married for many years to someone who cooks from scratch including cookies I really have little interest in manufactured cookies or other manufactured/processed food.
THIN MINTS FTW

When I ran the sale for my town a few years ago, most of the proceeds went to the local council, which used them to reduce the cost of council programs and camps.
At $4/box:
$1 went to the baker (GSA got its portion from licensing fees, paid by the baker out of their $1)
~$2 went to the local council
~$1 went to the troop and girls in the form of prizes.

Really? That's what you say to young girls doing positive things?
What are you a pimp?
I don't say that to the girls and their parents who are harassing me to buy cookies while I'm minding my own business.
If I say anything at all to them, I say "no thanks" in an indifferent voice.
I say "Fvck Off" to those who think I'm rude.
