This is a consumer mentality that will not produce happy and successful relationships. This same mentality can be found in some marriages as well, but it can be found in almost all live-in relationships. This is a death sentence in the long run for the relationship.
Why don't you just cut the crap and admit that your ideas about marriage and relationships are formed by the bible? You shouldn't be afraid to be up front about this unless you're ashamed of it.
