My point is that the regs are already in place, both at the federal and state level. Whatever Trump is going to do, it will have no impact on those types of regs. And even if he relaxed the federal regs that govern the environment of care in a SNF, which is unlikely, the state regs are typically more stringent anyway. So the original premise of the post is false.
The other question I would have is if the SNF had a poor record to begin with, why were they not bitch slapped by the state prior to this? And if they were, why were they allowed to continue to operate? Seems to me that negligence by the state as well as the operators is to blame. I'll look the facility statistics up on the CMS website if I have some spare time today.
