Regarding the disgruntled trumpers, it's starting to blow up on Parler too. A fantastic opportunity for me, as a fellow disappointed trumper, to get in there and convince them to stop voting for losers and conmen.

This is him saying he's forming another party and they should follow him. Please yes, split that ticket!

The new variant is actually a GOOD thing. It is more contagious, but it is less lethal. That is typical of what viruses do. Don't want to kill the host, you know. The vaccines still work on it, and the fools who won't get the vaccine have less of a chance of dying from it.
My understanding is that the new more-contagious (England strain) virus has been determined to not be more lethal. This is different from having been determined to be less lethal.
If you have an authoritative citation that says otherwise, I'd like to see it.

No.
this is not a good thing
being more contagious leads to an exponential rise in cases and therefore deaths. Even if it is less lethal. The sheer numbers of infected people will overcome the lower lethality.
it's just math.

Sound like the name of Trump's new party will be the Patriots.

Probably true, but that rather makes the point that there is a dearth of coherent right wing opinion being expressed on the forum.

Can confirm. The data at this time does not support FPs statement although it could eventually.

Trump had been screeching out the names of those he decided were guilty for days before the riots. His rioters knew who Trump wanted dealt with. Trumpers failure was that is rioters failed to breech the off-limits area where the Senators and Representatives were hunkered down. That area where where the woman who was shot and died was trying to get inside to open the doors.
Trump the coward. Never takes responsibility and only others should risk themselves by doing his bidding for him. He gives nothing and takes everything. Those lucky to be in his circle get to feed from the corruption.
The chain of events after he lost: He tried to get the election officials to overturn the results. Then he tried to get the judges to overturn the results. Then he tried to get the GOP to overturn the results. Then he tried to get the Pence to overturn the results. When none of those worked, he told the people to overturn the results. It's always about someone else doing the criming to cover him. He's not that good at this though as the trail of misdeeds is bright neon, he's just lucky he's been above the law. Anyone following him has been corrupted to the core to want to grab power. As for the masses, well they are looking for someone to blame and release their anger. The suckers.

I've been saying this for a few years now. Under no circumstances will Trump resign.
His most likely path is exile if someone will take him.
I'm not sure the US would allow him to flee to exile. He might get there, but I have to think we would get him back either by pressure or force. Can't have a former President being protected by an enemy country...that's a security risk.
Yeah, it does create some serious problems for both the US and the host country.
But there are advantages too. It's probably the least messy outcome and it saves face for everyone.

Sally has zero intentions of posting anything coherent. Sally's incoherent postings are intentional.

Is there any scientific evidence that the new strain is less lethal?

And he has been using the name patriots to describe his supporters for a very long time. Trump always telegraphs his intentions.

There is no way Trump will flee to another country. If he went to one that would accept him, he would be under the thumb of a leader that he could never trust and who could humiliate him on a daily base. There are limits to Trump's stupidity.

Oh, OK, I'm convinced. In fact, your reply arguably reinforces my false sophistication argument. Let's see if I can put it more clearly: When you vote for a pathologically lying immoral autocrat because your taxes MIGHT be a little lower, and/or you convince yourself that he's the only R in a very large country who would appoint conservative judges or reduce regulation, you are making an ethically/morally questionable decision. There might be "other" reasons for it, but it doesn't change the fundamental moral/ethical flaw. Honestly, when 47% of the voting public decides that they're OK with pathological lying and utter disregard for the lives of hundreds of thousands of Americans, I REALLY, REALLY don't care what the other "reasons" are.
good luck with that

A person can't be this fvking stupid.
1) this strain has been estimated to be 50% more contagious.
2) it has not been shown to be more or less severe or lethal
3) being more contagious means more people get it which means more people are hospitalized
4) if it is 50% more contagious, it has to be a hell of a lot (fancy medical term) less severe or lethal (which hasn't been shown yet) in order not to overrun our hospitals or end of killing more people.
Do you people like you even have half a fvking brain?

This isn't a discussion board or an academic forum. That ship sailed so long ago that it basically predates even primitive celestial navigation.
This is an opinion board. Full stop. No one comes here to debate - they come here to speak.
Wow, thanks so much for clarifying that for us.
What is this "you people" talk. At present I think there is only one person claiming this new variant is a good thing. I, for one, wholly disagree with this stance.
